Story
Meet Zion, known to his foster as “Z” 💫 At just a year and a half old, this handsome Shepherd mix is the kind of dog who walks into your life like he’s been rehearsing for it. Leash manners? Polished. House trained? Yes. Personality? Calm, steady, and quietly wonderful. If he’s a little nervous at first, he might mark once while he figures things out, but he settles in quickly and becomes an easy, steady presence in the home. Z enjoys his daily walks, but he’s not a whirlwind of energy. Think “let’s stroll and observe the world” rather than “marathon training partner.” He’s happy to join you on outings, rides beautifully in the car, and carries himself like a dog who understands he represents the household. Food is very important to him. When Zion first arrived, he was far too thin, so he takes snacks seriously. Leave a sandwich unattended and he may consider it a community resource. The upside? He is wonderfully food motivated and already sits politely for meals, treats, and on command. Frozen beef bones are his treasure of choice. Toys have not impressed him yet. He prefers the culinary arts. He is also a bit of a conversationalist. Expect a gentle morning announcement when breakfast time approaches and the occasional soulful howl if dinner is running behind schedule. It is less noise and more commentary, his way of keeping the household on schedule. Zion does well with kids. He can be a solo dog or live harmoniously in a group setting. He gets along nicely with other dogs. Cats, however, are a firm and non negotiable NO. If you are looking for a well mannered, mildly energetic, deeply loyal companion who will walk beside you with quiet confidence and remind you when it is snack o’clock, Zion is ready. He is not just a good boy. He is the kind of good boy who becomes part of the architecture of your home 🐾
