Meet Zeus: A Loyal Guardian Seeking His Kingdom Zeus is a magnificent intact male Great Pyrenees born on February 20, 2024. His lineage traces back to a working poultry farm in Mississippi, and while he has been raised as a pet, his heritage is evident in his noble, protective nature. Zeus is currently in the Chicago, IL area. We are seeking an experienced owner who understands the guardian breed temperament and can provide the environment Zeus needs to thrive. The Ideal Career & Home: Zeus is naturally territorial and protective of his people. While he is an affectionate companion indoors, he would benefit greatly from having a "job" to do. He is best suited for: A Working Farm or Large Property: Where his natural guarding instincts can be utilized. A Guard Dog Role: Protecting livestock or a large, fenced territory. Experienced Handlers: Someone familiar with "big white dogs" who can manage his protective drive with confidence. Health & Status: Intact: Zeus is currently intact.

Beethoven is at our Bucktown Adoption Center (2144 N. Wood St.) You can visit our Adoption Center anytime during open hours, no appointment needed. Beethoven is: Neutered: Yes! Up to date on vaccines: Yes! Microchipped: Yes! Our microchips will automatically register when an adoption is finalized More about Beethoven: Housebroken: Doing well overall, when on a consistent routine Crate trained: Yes! Leash walking: He can tend to pull and has been reactive to joggers and cyclists. He will need to keep working on this and would do best in a quieter neighborhood. Dog social: Yes! Beethoven loves making new dog friends. Cat social: Unknown Kid friendly: Unknown Beethoven likes: - Greeting you in the morning with a hug - Stretching out on the sofa for naps - Meeting new dog pals Beethoven is a fun, silly boy who has lots of energy and affection to share! He's a fluffy big guy with lots of love in his heart. He doesn't know how big he is but he loves food, treats, chewing all his toys, and occasionally coming up and snuggling with you. He is very sweet in the house and likes his space and own time as much as he likes being with you and playing. Beethoven is heartworm positive and on activity restriction. Our microchips will automatically register when an adoption is finalized More about Glug: Housebroken: Working on it! With a strict schedule and routine, he will catch on in no time Crate trained: He has done well in his crate overnight and for up to 4 hours when home alone, after taking a short time to settle Leash walking: He is still pretty new to leash walking, and is working on gaining more confidence on leash! Dog social: Yes! Cat social: Unknown Kid friendly: He has done well in brief interactions with a gentle 3-year-old Glug likes: - Stuffies and chew toys - Snuggling or wrestling with a dog pal - Learning new things - Being with his people Glug is the sweetest pup who was very shy when he came to us but has been gaining confidence and spunk. He’s curious and loves to "borrow" slippers and shoes to take back to his bed. When he’s excited he does an adorable little side hop. He loves other dogs and is enjoying learning all about the new exciting world around him, with treats in supply! Glug will do best with an adopter who is ready for all the stages that puppyhood and being an adolescent brings. OTAT requires that all dogs 6 months and under be enrolled in a positive reinforcement training program within 2 weeks of their adoption at their adopter's expense. A $150 refundable deposit will be collected at the time of adoption, and refunded upon receipt of proof of enrollment in a positive reinforcement training program. Glug's adoption fee is $350, and this handsome boy is so excited to grow up in his forever home!
