Story
Jeremiah (A141308) is just over a year old, a Lab mix, who weighed nearly 90 pounds on intake! 03/03/26 This handsome boy is Jeremiah! Jeremiah was surrendered to the shelter in hopes of finding his new loving family. This pup was getting himself into trouble by visiting the neighbor's home and getting into their trash. He might enjoy having a fenced-in yard in his next home so he can enjoy the outdoors without wandering off. Jeremiah was said to be kennel trained, housebroken, and know his basic commands. He has no experience with men but was said to do well with children in his last home. Making appropriate introductions is important in helping him feel secure and setting him up for success. Jeremiah was said to get along with other dogs but has no experience with smaller critters like cats or pocket pets. Slow, safe, and controlled introductions are always recommended. Jeremiah is a sweet boy and would love to find his new home; if you are interested in meeting him, please let us know! Fun fact: His surrendering owner stated his mom was a purebred lab, and his dad had quite the lineage, with his DNA test coming back as Golden Retriever, Pyrenees, German Shepherd, Chow Chow mix. Jeremiah was also said to be the firstborn of the litter and was born on Valentine's Day! March 3, 2026, 5:04 pm

Story
Lucky (A139545) is an 11-month-old Labrador x AK Husky mix who weighed 54.6 pounds on intake! Lucky is looking for a foster-to-adopt as she recovers from FHO surgery. 02/02/26 This lovely lady is Lucky, who, sadly, was not so lucky. Lucky was surrendered to the shelter after she was hit by a car. Lucky was known to be an escape artist, and it is critical that her next owner keep her safely contained on a leash, secure tie-out, or supervised in a fenced-in yard. Lucky is on strict care instructions after her FHO (Femoral Head Osteotomy) surgery. She needs to remain on strict kennel rest for 12-14 days (Feb 11th). After kennel rest, she still has a long road to recovery with physical therapy. She needs to be given only short bathroom breaks (5-10 minutes) on a leash. During recovery, she should not have interactions with other dogs. However, it is important to note that Lucky is dog-friendly and did previously live with dogs! Luckyâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s incision also needs to remain dry and clean â&#194&#128&#194&#147 no baths. She is sporting an awesome e-collar to keep her from licking. Making sure you follow her recovery and physical therapy plan is very important to help her while she heals. It is not uncommon for dogs not to bear weight for the first couple of weeks of recovery. As for her personality, she is quite a happy girl. She wags her tail and is always cheerful to see the staff. We do not know her experience level with children. Please ensure you are making appropriate introductions after she is done with recovery. If you are interested in fostering Lucky and helping her through her recovery, please let us know! Story
Clara (A140983) is a 10-month-old Lab who weighed 38.1 pounds on intake! Foster update 2/24/26: On arrival at the shelter, we found that Clara had a bowel obstruction after eating a sock. She was sent out for surgery and made a full recovery in an amazing foster home. However, it was noted that she will still seek out socks to eat and is a super chewer! Clara was said to break out of wire crates but did well in a ruffland kennel. She was said to be a little ball of energy who loves to play and did great with the foster's dogs and cats. She is also a smart girl who enjoys puzzle toys but does need to be supervised so she does not chew up the toy once completed. Clara has been working on potty training and with plenty of frequent potty breaks has done well. However, she does still ask to go out in the middle of the night if not fully exercised to her liking. Clara is still nervous around strangers, but once she bonds with her person she is very loyal. We recommend that she goes to a home without children due to her habit of eating things she should not.01/26/26 This shy but friendly pup is Clara! Clara can be quite reserved at first and may take some time to fully warm up. However, once she is comfortable with you, she is stated to be outgoing, friendly, and affectionate! Clara does not have much experience outside her surrendering home, so this is really a whole new world for her. She was said to do well the other dogs in her home, but has not experience around cats or smaller critters. With all new animals, it is important to ensure you are making appropriate introductions. Clara was stated to be crate trained but is not fully housebroken. She is looking for a patient owner who will continue to work with her. She would also benefit from attending a basic obedience class with a certified trainer to continue working on her manners and to continue building her confidence. If you are interested in meeting Clara, please let us know! February 27, 2026, 11:17 pm
