Maui is a beautiful, sweet, and silly 75lb Double Doodle (her wisdom panel shows 45% Labrador Retriever, 32% Golden Retriever, 22% Poodle, and 1% Flat-Coated Retriever). She came to SPAR facing life and death, having to undergo her second gastrointestinal surgery. She luckily pulled through the surgery and the weeks of recovery. She had previously had a foreign body removal 6 months prior as a puppy. Maui is looking for a special home. Having already used two (or more) of her spare lives, her body cannot afford another foreign body removal or gastrointestinal surgery. She cannot have access to any toys or anything left out she can chew on (blankets, dog beds, her leash, plastic dog bowls, etc). She sleeps in her kennel at night and is great around other dogs of all sizes. She is learning about cats in her current foster home and might be okay around dog-savvy cats. She would be okay in a home with older kids that understand the safety concerns of leaving things out where Maui can get into them. She has decent leash manners and enjoys going on walks. She is very smart and would love to take additional obedience classes to bond more with her new family. Maui also has already had an incisional gastropexy, so no future risks of GDV, or “bloat”. Athena is a gorgeous puppy she is one of our seven, 15-week-old Doodle puppies, mom is a GOLDENDOODLE and Dad is a LABRADOODLE Born 03/19/2024. She and her 6 siblings were owner surrendered due to an unfortunate family event, we have pictures of the parents. They are slightly on the shy side but are already blossoming in foster care. She is extremely smart, sweet, loving and friendly. She has mastered the doggie door in her foster home and is pretty good about going outside to potty but will need reinforcement. She is already 29 lbs. Please be an active family she is an active dog, so needs someone that has an active lifestyle and will give her and active life. She is currently being leashed trained. Since she is a puppy she will need plenty of chew toys and is curious about everything. She loves playing with doggie toys and loves the water after all she is a water dog.
