Hi there! My name is Aja and this is probably the most difficult thing I’ll have to do, but I am looking to re-home my fur babies. I will be moving to New York in about a year and wanted to give ample time to this process so I can ensure they find the right home(s). Here is a little information about each dog. Story
Maui is a beautiful, sweet, and silly 100lb Double Doodle (her wisdom panel shows 45% Labrador Retriever, 32% Golden Retriever, 22% Poodle, and 1% Flat-Coated Retriever). She came to SPAR facing life and death, having to undergo her second gastrointestinal surgery. She luckily pulled through the surgery and the weeks of recovery. She had previously had a foreign body removal 6 months prior as a puppy. Maui is looking for a special home. Having already used two (or more) of her spare lives, her body cannot afford another foreign body removal or gastrointestinal surgery. She cannot have access to any toys or anything left out she can chew on (blankets, dog beds, her leash, plastic dog bowls, etc). She sleeps in her kennel at night and is great around other dogs of all sizes. She is learning about cats in her current foster home and might be okay around dog-savvy cats. She would be okay in a home with older kids that understand the safety concerns of leaving things out where Maui can get into them. She has decent leash manners and enjoys going on walks. She is very smart and would love to take additional obedience classes to bond more with her new family. Maui also has already had an incisional gastropexy, so no future risks of GDV, or “bloat”. Daisy May's foster is moving and can't take Daisy May with her even though she loves her very much** Daisy May is a dog that loves everything. Belly rubs? Loves. Sticks? Loves. Daisy May will drag branches around her yard and loves being the queen of the hill. She plays hide and seek, although she isn't great at the hiding part. She is the perfect dog for anyone who loves a little adventure and fun. Daisy May has a lot of energy that she needs worked out with walks, adventures, or playing with other dogs. She likes chasing, tug, and agility play. Daisy May does well with other dogs, cats, and children. She's even met turtles. Daisy May is spayed, up to date on all vaccines, and chipped. Gazelle is a fun loving girl! She loves meeting other dogs and although she doesn't always get their social cues, she is great with redirecting and teaching. She is energetic at first but calms down fast and loves sitting by her people. She loves laying with her back legs out in her froggy position. She will sit for food, treats, and before she goes outside. She does awesome in the create and rarely complains when in there but if she does she always does great being corrected. She has a moderate energy level and benefits from walks and play sessions. Gazelle does good with other dogs but she sometimes tries to jump on them when she is excited. She has not met any cats or children but is suspected to do fine. Gazelle is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and chipped.
