Story
MEET LUZ CLARITA — AFFECTIONATELY KNOWN AS MISS RITA   One of our recent intakes from Mexico, Rita went from a skinny, emaciated puppy fighting for survival to a wonderful, curious young girl ready for a fresh start.   At around 30 pounds and approximately 6–8 months old, Rita is full of love and affection to give. We’re guessing she’s a Lab mix, though with rescue pups, who really knows for sure? What we do know is that she is a very good girl and more than ready to find her forever home.   Rita’s story is a heartbreaking one. She was found surrounded by her deceased littermates — the only survivor. After fighting for her life from such a young age, she’s finally getting the chance to just be a puppy.   Now thriving in her foster home, Rita is doing wonderfully with both dogs and cats. She’s goofy, sweet, and the kind of dog who can bring joy to just about anyone. While she can be a little shy at first, she’s quickly gaining confidence with new people, places, and experiences.   Rita loves her toys and bones, does well in her crate, and absolutely loves car rides — she fully considers herself a “center console dog.”   She walks nicely on leash, is very intrigued by the water, and is putting the finishing touches on potty training (she promises she’s learning how to ask to go outside). Rita is gentle, eager to learn, and above all, endlessly curious about the world around her.   Please help us find Rita the forever home she so deserves.   Apply to adopt: https://denkaisanctuary.org/adopt   #AdoptDontShop #RescueDog #LabMix #DenkaiAnimalSanctuary #RescueLove #TijuanaRescue #SecondChance #ForeverHomeNeeded #ColoradoDogs #AvailableForAdoption ##2731694##

Story
Mario is exactly what you’d expect from a young Lab… goofy, energetic, playful, and always ready for the next adventure.   This handsome 9-month-old Lab mix has a brand new lease on life and is now looking for a foster or forever home here in Colorado.   Mario loves toys, enjoys other dogs, and is always up for some fun. He walks pretty well on leash, though his excitement about the world can sometimes get the better of him. He’s still young, still learning, and would thrive with someone who understands the lovable chaos that comes with teenage Labs.   And when he’s happy to see you? Expect hugs, kisses, and absolutely no respect for personal space. Plus, he has the BEST ears, which somehow make him even more lovable.   Cats are a little unsettling for him, and kids can feel overwhelming at first, but once he settles in, his sweet and goofy personality really starts to come through.   Neutered Heartworm negative Dog friendly Ready for a fresh start   Mario is looking for someone who can give him guidance, consistency, and the chance to truly grow into the amazing dog he’s meant to be.   Apply to foster or adopt at www.denkaisanctuary.org ##2742750##

Story
Meet Banks   Banks' journey has had more twists and turns than any dog deserves.   Originally rescued after showing up injured and alone on the reservation, Banks overcame his rough start with remarkable resilience and quickly won hearts with his gentle nature. After spending time in rescue, he transferred to another organization in hopes of finding his forever family. Unfortunately, after a couple of unsuccessful adoption attempts, Banks is making his way back to Denkai and is once again looking for the right place to call home.   Now around 2 years old and weighing in at 80 pounds, Banks is a lovable gentle giant with a heart every bit as big as he is. He adores other dogs, is curious but respectful around cats, and forms strong bonds with his people. He walks nicely on leash, is house-trained, and takes treats with the softest mouth.   Banks is food motivated and eager to please, making him a great candidate for continued training. Like many young dogs, he can occasionally be tempted by unattended snacks on the counter or interesting treasures in the trash. He may also chew on non-toy items if he's bored or not getting enough mental and physical enrichment, so he'll do best with a family committed to keeping his mind engaged and providing appropriate outlets for his energy.   Based on what we've learned about Banks, he would do best in an adult-only home or one with children 12 years and older. He isn't looking for a perfect family—just one that understands him, appreciates his gentle spirit, and is committed to giving him the stability he deserves.   After all the changes he's experienced, Banks is ready for a fresh start and a family that will be his forever. If you're looking for a loyal best friend with a heart of gold, Banks may be the one you've been waiting for.   This sweet boy has been let down more than once, and we're determined that his next home will be his last.   Banks is looking for either a foster home or an adopter as he returns to Denkai. If you can give this deserving boy a chance, please submit an application at https://denkaisanctuary.org.   After everything he's been through, Banks deserves a family that will finally be forever. ##2653324##
