Story
Nikki’s story is one of sadness and tragedy but also one of loyalty, love and a gentle spirit. Nikki arrived in rescue after her owner passed away. She was found by the local police department laying next to them, refusing to leave their side. Who knows how long she had been there. There were no family members to act as Nikki’s safety net so she ended up at the county shelter, confused and grieving. This is where we first met her. Nikki is above everything a study in love - giving it and receiving it. She is a shy but affectionate girl who thinks strangers are friends she hasn’t met yet. She loves to be petted and she loves to give affection, peppering g you with kisses before snuggling next to you. Nikki enjoys walks but she is also a wonderful couch buddy, calm and relaxed, always ready for a movie or a nap. She walks well on leash and has lived in a home all her life so she is very familiar with the household routine and everything it entails. If you adopt Nikki you will also be adopting her lamb chop toy. She adores it, choosing it above her other toys all of whom she adores and plays with gently. She is great with kids and seems to know they are littler people who need softer interaction. She is fun, playful and her smile will light up a room. Nikki really is the gem of a dog you have been seeking.

Hi there! I’m Scraggles, a scruffy 6-year-old Labrador and Patterdale Terrier mix who weighs about 60 pounds. I would love a home with a yard, even a small one, so we can play fetch together. Playing fetch is my greatest joy in life and Ill bring the ball right back to you for another round. I walk well on a leash, enjoy rolling in the grass for belly rubs, and I love treats. I am incredibly smart and eager to learn many new things. Even though I am athletic, I am a great balance of calm and playful. I am fully potty trained and keep my kennel very clean. I have many stuffed toys that I snuggle with in my kennel until I can find a human to snuggle with me. I usually prefer being friends with female dogs and just need a little time to get to know them, but a home as the only pet is the best fit for me.
