Story
Meet Ziggy! Ziggy is the kind of dog who catches your eye and quietly wins your heart. With her sleek black coat that shimmers in the sun and fur so soft it feels like velvet, it almost seems like she’s been sneaking into the house for spa days and deep-conditioning treatments. But it’s not just her beautiful coat or her soulful eyes that make her special. It’s the way she leans in for affection and the way she melts into your arms when you give her hugs. She is such a sweetie pie. Ziggy is a lab/ rottie mix who we believe is about a year and a half! But due to her being a rescue, age and breed are not guaranteed! One thing is for certain, she is soft-hearted, silky-coated, and ready for her forever home! Check out Ziggy in action below! https://youtu.be/uDrrqzq8360 Ziggy is currently living with three small dogs and several cats. Despite the age gap between her and the senior residents, she’s respectful and gentle. She has been curious about the cats, sometimes even playful, but never pushy or inappropriate. She’s the kind of dog who gives space, who listens, and who would do well with dog-savvy feline friends. She’s also had a chance to meet a variety of dogs during her time with us. Her play style is sweet and engaging once she’s warmed up, and she especially lights up around smaller or gentler pups who share her soft energy. When her comfort grows, so does her playful spirit, and it's a joy to watch her come out of her shell. She’s not terribly interested in toys yet, but she absolutely loves affection. Her favorite moments are the ones where she’s close to you, resting her head in your hands or soaking up gentle pets. She has lovely manners, is wonderfully polite with food and space, and would make a calm, loyal companion in a peaceful home. Ziggy hasn’t lived with small children, but her temperament suggests she could do well in a home with respectful, dog-savvy kids who are gentle and kind. She has spent time with 16 year olds and enjoyed it! Younger children are a maybe—not because Ziggy doesn’t like them, but because just hasn’t spent much time around them! No worries though, we are happy to introduce her to any age kiddo you may have in your life! We want to make sure she is perfect for your family! With her soft eyes and warm smile, Ziggy has a quiet magic about her. She is looking for that special family to devote her heart to. If you’re looking for a dog who will change your life for the better, apply for Ziggy today! https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/6824dcaa1fa2c225f80a6e6e Questions? Story
Meet Max, a 3.5 year old medium energy loving boy who is so ready to join his forever home. My favorite thing about Max is when you first meet him. He greets you with a gentle nudge to say hello. Anyone can walk up to meet Max and he greets them the same way. He is an easy going boy that loves to just hang out with his people. Meet Max here: Max is a versatile and adaptable dog. Although he has integrated into various dog packs his favorite playmate is a playful puppy. He lives with other dogs but his favorite companion is his person! While Max can initially be a bit reserved for a short time, he quickly warms up to those who show him kindness and patience. Max has met and enjoyed the company of older kids. He was particularly easy to hang with the 13 year old kids. He eventually will crawl into your lap and give you his paw to hold. It is his way of saying please keep loving on me. Max is a soulful sweet personable dog. His favorite spot for affection is on the side of his cheeks and under his chin. As on as you love those spots he will be attached to you like glue. When you stop petting him he will gently paw your arm like telling you to please dont stop. Max is pretty good on leash too. He was able to be walked in the neighborhood by his 13 year old friend Sadie. He listens pretty well too and knows the command sit. Max is crate and potty trained too. Max is ever so gentle when he takes treats out of your hand. He has the best manners and never jumps on his people friends either. Car riding is easy for Max too! He rides with a calm manner which makes traveling easy. When Max goes to the city park he really enjoys sniffing around and meeting new people. We think Max would love a home with a yard. He does not need dog friends but a playful easy going dog friend would be nice too. Max’s dream home is a home that will cherish him by spending time with him, taking him on strolls, and giving him pets and affection. Story
Little miss Leoni Roe is a perfectly pretty girl with an affinity for ball and a deep love for all of humankind. If she could have it her way, she would be in bed with her people and her favorite toy. Leoni is so amazing at entertaining herself, that we could see her being a great companion for someone that works from home. The cutest thing about Leoni is how much she loves ball! This sweet girl will chase a tennis ball all day if you let her. Extra bonus points if the ball squeaks! If you are looking for a furry friend to play fetch with, Leoni is ready to meet you! Leoni had so much fun on her first ever doggy day out! She went to the park where she got to have a yummy Starbucks pup cup. Her new bestie, who happens to be only 1 years old, decided to share her cake pop with Leoni too! She was so spoiled! When her new tiny human bestie was eating and playing, she didn’t try to take her food or jump on her. Leoni was just so happy to be involved. She loved jumping around on the playscape and she even got on the slide! Leoni was a great car rider too. She laid right down, and was patiently waiting to have her door opened when they arrived. Leoni sure does sound like a whole lot of fun and sweetness combined! Sweet Leoni is estimated to be just over two years old, and weighs in at a petite 53 pounds. We think Leoni is a Lab, Pittie mix but she is a rescue, so these are just our best guesses. Fall in love with Leoni here: https://youtu.be/QXpG7_9paZQ?si=mb1qTtYex1QqgptH Leoni is still learning her leash manners, but already has amazing house manners. She’s a fast learner, food motivated, and a gentle treat taker! She knows how to “sit” for treats, and takes direction and correction from humans well. Super affectionate and loving, Leoni is quick to give kisses. Other dogs, humans, even her stuffies- no one is safe from Leoni’s kisses. Leoni even approaches for affection when she has the opportunity to play with other dogs, she can be found in any play yard sitting at the feet of the closest human, waiting patiently for pets. We think she could thrive as your one and only princess. Leoni is dog friendly and she has been introduced to a variety of dogs all with varying personalities. Leoni isn't super interested or really care too much to interact with other dogs. She prefers to be the center of attention. She is the type that just likes to hangout and explore the yard, do her own thing, or hanging out with her people. Which is definitely where she prefers to be in general. She is much more of a people's dog than a dog's dog. Don’t worry, she does great on walks when he sees other dogs, and she’s a great dog to take to the park with you! We honestly believe that Leoni would be happiest being your one and only fur baby in the home. She doesn't the company of another dog to help her feel comfortable or open up nor does she need another dog to fulfill her energy needs. We do not recommend Leoni for a home with kitties! Leoni has been kid tested, and her gentle and sweet nature leads us to believe she will be a perfect family dog. She got caught snuggling on the bed with Kobe, who is 4 years old. When we say she would be the perfect work from home dog, we say this we have seen this girl in her element. While spending some time inside, she managed to entertain herself while Kobe watched YouTube on his phone meanwhile Sara and Olga both worked on their computers. She threw her toys for herself while still making time to check in on everyone for some affection. After all of that fun, she came to lay down on the bed for more snuggles. We believe that Leoni would be happier in a house than an apartment. We are willing to test Leoni Roe with anything you need us to in order to ensure she is the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life?
