Story
Your response serves as your preliminary application. Please provide the requested information. I cannot stress that enough. I need more than "I want a dog, live in a house, and will love him". Please do not second-guess what I have determined to be the "ideal family".
Meet Levi Tony Baloney, a presumed Doxipoo weighing in at approximately 16 pounds, 6 years old. His history is spotty at best. We know his previous owner died, and since then has been bounced around. He is a happy lad who will attach quickly to his person. His favorite spot is in your lap. He loves belly rubs, bubble baths, and car rides. So far, he hasn't shown any desire to play with toys. He can be a finicky eater; he doesn't like kibble, only soft food. Sometimes indicative of some dental decay, but his teeth are gleaming white with fresh breath. Of course, he likes people's food, which we strongly discourage, and we are working on his sad eye begging. Although he rarely barks- when he does, he doesn't stop until he is darn ready. That is the stubborn dachshund part of him. Luckily, that is not often. Until he knows the ins and outs of his surroundings, he startles easily for a moment. He shows good potty manners and walks wonderfully on leash, happy to meet passersby and other dogs. He gets along with other dogs; however, he wants to be the Prince of his Palace. He doesn't want to share his people. Cats frighten him. So, although he can co-exist with a kitty, He will not make friends easily.
His ideal family will be on the quiet side- not a lot of foot traffic, a warm lap of a mature couple or retired lady or gentleman. He is up to date on vaccines, neutered, and microchipped.
Please pay attention to the following. If you do not provide as asked- I am sorry- I will decline to respond.
Tell us about you, your family, your activities, your property, the city you live in, other pets in your home, and whatever else puts you on top. The more information about you, the better. What can this companion expect from you, and what are your expectations of him/her? Additionally, we will not meet halfway. Please prepare to meet in person without hurry, and be willing to have a home evaluation and viewing of your social media. There is a fee for placement to offset medical and care. Age-appropriate placement is at the discretion of the guardian advocate. Please allow several or more days for a response, as I review inquiries. I appreciate your understanding—Raleigh's Rescue Advocacy. *DNA testing is not performed, and we can only give you an assumed breed or breed mix.
