Story
Available in TX only! King is a one year old Basset Hound/Lab mix with a gentle soul and a laid back nature. He is still gaining confidence and can be scared of new things, especially loud noises, but once he feels safe he settles in nicely. When he gets excited he can be a little jumpy, though most of the time he is calm and easygoing. King truly enjoys running around the yard, going on walks, and soaking up outdoor time. He has a playful side and loves playing fetch with frisbees and balls. Tug of war is another favorite game, and he is a big fan of chew time. Knuckle bones, hard chew toys for power chewers, and anything he can safely gnaw on make him very happy. King is crate trained and house trained, which makes him an easy addition to a home. King does have a prey drive and enjoys chasing squirrels and frogs, and he will chase cats, so a cat free home is recommended. He also has a sensitive stomach and does best on sensitive stomach dog food. King would thrive in a patient, understanding home that will give him time to build confidence and continue showing him the world is a safe place. With love and consistency, he will be a loyal and loving companion. To apply directly for King, push the "Apply for Adoption" button. https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-751

Story
Please read the entire bio for this rescue, it will provide all the information that one needs to decide if they would like to apply to adopt from SCMR.Jimmy Adoption fee $400.00   Who's up for a bouncy 2 year old poodle boy?! Jimmy came to us as a stray so we have no background on him. But the vet thinks he's around 2 because of his beautiful teeth. He is a sturdy 16 and a half pounds and pretty well house trained. He prefers to go outside but will use a pee pad if he needs to. And he sleeps in bed all night long without having to get up to go. In fact, he is a bit of a bed bug and even after 8-9 hours sleep, has to be coaxed out of bed! He loves to play and is generally good with other dogs as long as there is no food involved. He can be aggressive over his chow and treats. So we think it would be best for him to be an only dog. He llikes to stretch out in my lap at night before bed time and get a nice rub down.     We believe Jimmy has a chicken allergy because he can get very itchy. He has to have a periodic Cytopoint shot. He also takes a Zyrtec twice a day in his food. And he has to be on special food. He eats Open Farm salmon kibble. Also he loves apples and gets 3 apple chunks with each meal.       Jimmy has been fully vetted and is up to date on all shots and heartworm and flea meds. He's a sweet boy and deserves a loving home.   Jimmy, based on his age, falls under our Seniors for Seniors policy: The age rescue that SCMR is happy to consider adopting to applicants that are 70+ years old is 7+.  Full policy details, please visit our website. https://www.scmradoption.com/policies Adoption fee: $400.00   Out-of-state adoptions are possible; however, the approved adoptive home is responsible for making the necessary arrangements to pick up their new little one.  To be considered to adopt me, please fill out an APPLICATION.  NOTE: SCMR does not adopt to homes with children under the age of 10 years or homes with Electric Fences.
