Story
Kriss Kross is a remarkable lab rescue mix who found his way to Friends of Dogs in July 2023. When he was found as a stray, he was in dire need of care. He had a thin scar around his neck from being tied up, a sore back ankle, and infected ears. Additionally, his eyes are slightly crossed, possibly due to past trauma. Friends of Dogs rescued Kriss Kross not out of pity, but because of his sweet and happy disposition. He has a kind heart, and it was clear to the rescuers that he deserved a chance at a good life. His foster mom took Kriss Kross to the vet for a thorough assessment. He is approximately three years old, weighs 43 pounds, and is heartworm negative. The vet suspects that Kriss Kross may have experienced head trauma, affecting his brain and causing his eyes to cross. His sore ankle is likely the result of a previous injury, which may have caused it to grow incorrectly. Despite this, he doesn't appear to be in pain and has a distinctive, endearing hop when he walks. Kriss Kross has been thriving in a safe and nurturing environment, something he has never experienced before. He has been neutered and is now ready for the next step in his journey. Kriss Kross needs a special home where he can continue to receive the love and care he deserves. Kriss Kross's greatest joy is to be with people. He longs for human connection and eagerly soaks up pets and cuddles. While he is friendly and polite with other dogs, he always prefers to be close to his people. Due to his past trauma, he can be a little anxious and needy, but he has so much love to offer in return. Hunter is available in TX, PNW, and NE (excluding NH and MA) Meet Hunter! Hunter is a 10-month-old Lab mix with a heart full of energy and a love for play! This active pup thrives on fun and adventure, making him the perfect companion for a family who loves to stay busy. Hunter is great with kids, loves other dogs, and is potty and crate trained. He's also a pro on the leash and enjoys being a good car rider. While Hunter is full of personality, he can be a bit shy around new people and protective of his space. He may bark when he's unsure, but with patience and guidance, he quickly warms up. Hunter needs plenty of physical and mental activity to keep him engaged-he's still a curious puppy who might chew if he gets bored. If you're an active family looking for a loyal, playful companion, Hunter could be your perfect match! To see more pictures and videos, copy and paste this link. Story
Meet Bruno, a resilient and happy 10-month-old black Lab mix with a heart full of love and a zest for life. Bruno came into our local animal control with an injured leg, body full of BB pellets, and significant hair loss, but he’s made an incredible transformation. After his leg amputation and a lot of TLC, his coat has grown back beautifully, and he’s embraced life as a tripod with the sweetest spirit. Bruno is the ultimate companion. He loves playtime, whether it’s fetching, romping with other dogs (he gets along with everyone he meets), or guarding his favorite toys. When it’s time to relax, Bruno is perfectly content being a couch potato, whether on the couch with you or snuggled up in his own bed. He’s housebroken, sleeps well in his kennel, and is learning to walk on a leash like a pro. While he’s still building endurance on walks as he adjusts to being a tripod, his determination and quick learning are impressive. Bruno is initially cautious around new people but warms up quickly with a little patience and kindness. Bruno is ready to bring his joyful energy and unwavering loyalty to his forever home. If you’re looking for a loving, playful, and resilient pup to join your family, Bruno is the one for you! Story
This is Snoopy. He is approximately 1 year old. Vet said he is Lab/mix. Snoopy is up to date on all vaccines and neutered. He is heartworm negative and on prevention. Snoopy is not house broke because all my rescue dogs are in outdoor kennels. I do feel as if he would be easily trained due to his high intelligence level. Snoopy was dumped at around 6 months of age and left like garbage. The vet said he was either attacked by dogs or had been used for a bait dog at least once. His wounds are all healed now but he is still timid when first meeting humans. Snoopy loves to play and is a huge goofball. He's good with all dogs but he is not cat tested. He is also good with kids. He deserves a chance to be the pup he never got to be.

Story
Tom was born on a farm in an accidental litter. He is 6, goofy, excitable, and thinks he is a lap dog. He has vet anxiety and has medication for it. Hes lived in a rural/suburb most of his life, going on trails or running around a large yard. Im moving to a city now and I dont think the transition would be good for him. Especially since he gets nervous around strangers, unfamiliar noises, and doesnt like to be contained to small spaces. Hes good with some dogs but not with others so a home without other dogs would be best unless you can do a slow introduction. He was raised with cats and is good with them. He loves playing fetch but will turn it into keep away to stay outside longer and moves all his toys to the room he is currently in. He loves being on trails and he is trained to pull, we were working on canicross training. He knows those commands as well as sit, wait, and leave it. He also absolutely loves car rides and will jump in if the door is open.

Story
Benton is 19 months old and is a sweet, calm, happy boy who is great with people and other dogs. He has never been around cats but would probably be fine with them as well. He is house trained and knows basic commands. We acquired him when he was 4 months old, from someone who was unable to keep him due to apartment rules. The ONLY reason we are rehoming him is because our 7 yr old dog is aggressive toward him and needs to be the only dog in the home. Benton would probably do best in a home with other dogs to play with or frequent trips to a dog park.
