Fergie

Labrador Retriever

Male, 8 mos
Kamloops, BC
Size
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Details
Not good with kids, Good with dogs, Good with cats, House-trained, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Fergie and his siblings are alive because a kind woman would go feed their pregnant mama who was living outside near a riverbank, shortly after being born there, mum and pups were taken to safety into the SPCA PV sanctuary in Mexico. Fergie is stunning with his sleek black coat, white toes and long lean physique. Fergie was born with extra toes in his back legs, a condition that is not harmful (in fact some snow breeds were bred with them, so he was meant for a life in Canada!). Fergie arrived in BC for a 2 week "holiday" in Vancouver foster with another dog, before heading to his foster spot in Nelson, BC. He is doing so well, enjoying cuddles with his foster mum, making good progress on house training and enjoying taking in the world. He would enjoy a dog friend to play with. Fergie is also good with cats. We think he'll grow to about 55 - 60 lbs. Fergie is smart and food motivated, so learns quickly. If you think you might be his happy ever after for this new Canadian, message us at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com or pvcaadoptions@pvcaanimalrescue.onmicrosoft.com or go direct to our application: https://forms.office.com/r/b1Fkq3u4zw (please check your junk mail in case we get redirected when we respond)

Story
Meet Rocky! Rocky is a 1 year old Lab/Border Collie mix, searching for his forever home.Rocky is a kind-hearted, three-legged, gentle soul who just wants to be close to his people -like, really close. He's the definition of a Velcro dog, always by your side with soft eyes and a heart full of love. He was brought to us as a stray, so we don't know anything about his history.Rocky is presumed to be a Lab and Border Collie mix. This means he's an outgoing, friendly boy, with a love of learning and fun!Rocky came to us with an irreparable broken leg, which unfortunately had to be amputated. Despite this challenge, he still brings a big smile wherever he goes! Rocky is an easy going, happy fella. His idea of a perfect life isn't asking for much - just a committed guardian (or a few) ready to spoil him with endless love and care... and not too many stairs! So if you're looking for a steady, devoted companion with a heart of gold and a gentle spirit, Rocky is ready to be your loyal shadow and forever friend. If you think Rocky could be a good fit for you, please fill out an application below.https://spca.bc.ca/survey/dog-adoption-application-kamloops/*TIP: We encourage all applicants to write a little bit about themselves when prompted.
