This gentle 8‑year‑old cuddlebug has spent time in foster care, where she's shown just how special she truly is. She's resilient, loving, and so eager to finally feel safe.🌟 Personality- Walk enthusiast: Birdie lights up the moment she knows it's time for a stroll. She enjoys exploring at her own pace and isn't bothered by traffic or everyday noises.- Couch potato at heart: After her adventures, she's all about curling up beside you-or right on top of you-for long, peaceful naps.- Champion snuggler: Belly rubs and couch cuddles are her love language.- A talker: She "chats" in soft grumbles and playful little sounds that make her personality shine.- Calm and easygoing: She doesn't shed (much), hasn't shown us any signs of resource guarding, and loves stuffies and Kong toys.- Dog‑selective: She may bark at other dogs on walks, but she's easily redirected with treats. Meet Surf, the Syrin:This sweet girl came from a home with over 30 dogs and is very fearful of new situations. She is very friendly and warms up quickly with treats and encouragement and is very food motivated. Surf lived with other dogs and seems to be social with other dogs which leads us to believe that she would love a resident canine companion. Surf will need the typical puppy training as she doesn't know what a leash is and is quite fearful of the leash. You will need to help her get over this fear with Animal Kind training and positive encouragement. This may take some time, but it will be a rewarding venture into a life of long walks and love for her family. She will also require house training as none of these dogs were exposed to home living. She looks to people she knows for comfort and is an absolute sweetheart.Surf also has abnormal knee joints. Her right knee has some developmental abnormalities, and the left knee looks to have been previously fractured and healed abnormally. Whoever adopts Surf will need to work closely with their veterinarian regarding a joint management strategy. Currently she has been prescribed Hills J/D Mobility food, ProFlex Joint Supplements once per day, and she will require Cartrephen injections once per week for 4 weeks, then once per month after. She should be kept mobile with short daily walk, but hiking and running is out as too much activity will be hard on her joints. If you are interested in this sweet girl, please come and meet her! ADOPTION ALERT: STUNNING LONG AND LEAN AVAILABLE Meet Freddie - 65lbs of energy, enthusiasm and joy Birthday: Not quite sure but some time in October of 2024 Weight: A looooong and lean 65lbs Currently in Foster in Nelson, BC Who is he? an eager to please, clever goofball, extremely smart, food motivated, playful & enthusiastic, FAST... this boy can run...Loves routine! Skills include: - did we mention he is FAST! He would be GREAT at agility - 10/10 on the cuddle scale - a bit like a house alarm, will bark to alert you (with positive reinforcement he knows to cease when instructed) - 10/10 on bringing joy and enthusiasm to all things in life - plays well with other dogs after proper introduction - loves to learn and work - good with horses, chickens and cats - great in the car and is crate trained for short periods of down time (overnight he prefers his own bed or yours) Work in Progress includes: - can be reactive with new dogs if not introduced properly - shy when meeting new people or dogs - his early life in the shelter has caused him to be wary of strangers but once he knows you, he warms right up - trust is earned with Freddie, not given automatically Ideal home: - ideally with a doggie sibling who will tolerate his playful puppy-ness but could be an only dog as long as he had regular play dates - he loves routine - rural setting away from the hustle and bustle of city life - fenced outdoor space he can safely explore - people who will worship him and make him feel safe and loved - humans with experience with shy dogs who can boost his confidence - a life that offers adventure and allows him to grow into the amazing dog he is becoming - a home willing to continue his raw feeding Medical Flex: - he is healthy, raw fed and has delayed neuter to allow his growth plates to close Freddie’s Dream: Find a human who loves him as much as he loves to run! Someone who will be patient with him as he finds his way and overcomes “stranger danger” and loves to cuddle on the couch.
