Story
Courtesy Post – Buck is Looking for a New Home! Date: Monday, December 8, 2025 ** This dog is not at the shelter. Please contact the owner directly. Meet Buck, a sweet, energetic 1-year-old neutered male Black Labrador looking for a new home. His current family is heartbroken to rehome him, but their apartment will no longer allow dogs. They want to give Buck the chance to find a home better suited for his energy, training needs, and playful nature. About Buck Breed: Labrador Retriever Age: 1 year Gender: Male (neutered) Color: Black Vaccines: Up to date Where He Came From: Solano County Animal Shelter Time in Current Home: 2 months Personality & Behavior Buck is a friendly, happy, high-energy dog who loves people. He can be jumpy when excited but is never aggressive—just a goofy Lab pup who wants attention. He’s been good with kids, dogs, and cats in previous environments. He is: &#226&#156&#148 Crate-trained &#226&#156&#148 Food/toy-handling friendly &#226&#156&#148 Knows some basic commands &#226&#156&#150 Not fully potty-trained yet — needs continued consistency He’s lived both indoors and outdoors. When visitors come over, he’s friendly but enthusiastic and may jump up to greet them. Ideal Home Buck will thrive with: An active family or individual A yard or space to run Someone committed to ongoing training People who enjoy affectionate, energetic Labs He is not a great fit for apartment living unless the adopter is very active and committed to training. &#226&#157&#151 Rehoming Background His family tried rehoming him through friends and online postings, and they also consulted a trainer. He improved around other Labs, but he still needs more space and structure than they can provide. Contact Information If you think Buck might be a great addition to your home, please contact his owner directly: Owner: Kelsey  Vacaville, CA  (707) 771-1804 kelseyw311@gmail.com All animals are up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies if over 4 months old), microchipped, and spayed or neutered.
