Winston (formerly Liam) was adopted to a young man & his mom adopted his sibling. Unfortunately, now that they are backing living under one roof, the boys are not getting along, it happens with siblings. Sadly, the family has decided to rehome Winston, they want him to have the best life & not have to always worry about separating the 2 boys. Winston is a handsome pit bull terrier mix with a big heart and an even bigger love for adventure. He’s an energetic guy who thrives on outdoor fun—hiking, playing fetch with his favorite ball, and chasing sticks are some of his absolute joys. After a day of activity, Winston is more than happy to curl up and cuddle with his people. Winston would do best as the only dog in the home, where he can soak up all the love and attention. While he gets along with most dogs, he has had an issue with his littermate, so a single-dog household is the best fit for him. He’s fully house-trained, knows his name, and comes when called. Winston walks beautifully both on and off leash and is a great companion for active families or individuals. He also loves relaxing with a good bone or durable chew toy and is happiest when he has something sturdy to gnaw on. The pups, only 7-8 weeks old at the time, had not received any of their required vaccinations or de-wormings and were left to roam freely around the property which was littered with trash, broken down vehicles and other unsanitary conditions. upon their arrival to SoCo Rescue, we immediately began administering their vet care. Liam is a very playful, friendly and well socialized pup. We found out during his photo shoot that he loves the water as Liam and all of his siblings made a dash towards our pond and jumped in it! We're expecting him to grow to be a large dog. Liam is great candidate as a family companion Liam has now received all of his first year "puppy" vaccinations, de-wormings and other preventative care. He's also been started on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. Liam's adopter must agree to having him neutered once he reaches 6 months of age and provide verification of such to our rescue. If approved to adopt, a SoCo team member will contact you ASAP.** Back in 2021, a (now former) SoCo staff member found a young male Lab mix wandering the streets. The former staff member agreed to foster this dog and help nurse him back to health as he was undernourished at the time. From his first day with the staff this very friendly, very attentive fellow became a bright spot in the lives of everyone he met. Because of his very pleasant and uplifting personality, he was given the name of the mythical god of song, poetry and a number of other positive aspects of life: "Apollo"! Apollo has continued with his wonderful personality during his time at SoCo Rescue. We have no idea what his former life was truly like, but with his knowledge of basic commands it's obvious that someone once took time to train him, that he was once someone's companion and best friend. He has been excellent with other dogs and people of all ages and will make a great family companion. Upon his arrival, Apollo immediately received and has been kept up-to-date on all of his annual vaccinations and de-wormings, monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives and other needed vet care. He's also been neutered. Apollo initially tested "light" positive for heartworms. We elected to use the "Slow Kill" method of treating his heartworms, which resulted in a Negative test results on Nov. 20, 2023. Apollo has displayed some house-training ability, but his adopter should be prepared to offer additional training. Questions about Snow and/or our adoption policy should be sent to socorescue8@gmail.com; please do not call the Rescue's number.*** Snow and her seven littermates came into our rescue as owner surrenders and with the help of the Shamrock Animal Welfare League of Dublin, GA. While the owner did keep the mom and dad to these pups, Shamrock assisted the owner with having both spay/neutered. Unfortunately, we do not have any pics of the mom and dad. While with her former owner, Snow and her siblings didn't receive much socialization and all were pretty apprehensive of people. Since coming to SoCo, our staff has been dedicated to working on helping them overcome their apprehension of humans and they've all made very good progress. Snow will do good in a home with another well-socialized dog or an owner who is experienced, patient and understanding that she may take some time to fully open up once in a new home. Regardless, this friendly, playful girl should grow into becoming a great friend to whoever is lucky enough to adopt her. Snow has now received an update on her annual vaccinations, de-wormed and treated against any possible parasites at proper intervals. Her adopter should follow their vet's advice on future vaccinations and such. She will also be spay prior to her adoption.
