Story
We are having to rehome Ollie as our living situation does not allow more dogs. Ollie loves to play, and would do best with a companion dog in the home, as he can suffer from separation anxiety when he is home alone. He very sociable with all ages. He loves water enjoys to run, jump, and play fetch. As a young dog, does not understand where he is in relation to people yet when moving, and sometimes bowls past small children in his excitement. He knows basic commands, such as sit, here, stay/"here" and has been trained to sit prior to eating before being released. He loves to snuggle at times. He can use some quality training including on a leash in outside settings. No issues with allergies. He is well housetrained and will sit by the door and "trill" when he needs to go outside. He will do his business quickly and come back on command. We were introducing short off leash training where he would stay close and for example go to the car. He loves car rides. He is very eager to please.

💛 Meet Bailey — 104 Pounds of Lap Dog! 🐾 Bailey is an 8-year-old, 104-pound Labrador Retriever mix who may be a big girl, but in her mind, she’s the perfect size for your lap! This lovey lady adores attention, enjoys being close to her people, and has plenty of personality to share. Bailey knows “sit” and isn’t shy about letting you know what’s on her mind. She’s currently carrying some extra weight, so her future family should be ready to help her work toward a healthier weight with an appropriate diet and regular exercise. 🏡 Bailey’s Perfect Home: 🐶 Mandatory meet and greet with dogs in the home 🚫 No small animals 👧 Children ages 8+ 💕 Plenty of room for a 104-pound lap dog! Bailey is already spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations, so she’s ready to find a family who appreciates a big, affectionate girl with lots of love to give. If you have an open lap—or at least a really big couch—Bailey would love to meet you! 🐾💛

Meet Silas! 🐾💛 Silas is a 1-year-old, 48-pound Labrador Retriever mix with a smart, playful personality and plenty of potential! Silas is still a bit undersocialized, and strangers can be scary at first. He'll do best with a patient family who can give him time to warm up and help him build confidence. Once he's comfortable, his playful side starts to shine! This clever young guy loves to learn, but food can get him a little too excited. He can also become mouthy when overstimulated, so continued training and positive guidance will help him learn his best manners. Silas is looking for a home with kids 8+ and no cats or small animals. He's already neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines—all he needs now is a family willing to give this sweet, sensitive guy the chance to blossom. ❤️🐶

🎮 Press Start... Player 1 Has Entered the Game! Meet Sega, the 11-month-old, 51-pound Labrador Retriever mix who's ready to level up from shelter life to his forever home! Like any great adventure game, Sega's story starts with a few challenges. He came to the shelter as an owner surrender alongside his buddy Spyro, and because he didn't get enough opportunities to experience the world when he was younger, he's still building his confidence. New people and new situations can feel like difficult levels, but with patience, encouragement, and plenty of positive experiences, Sega is ready to unlock his full potential. This young hero is packed with high energy, so he'll thrive with an active family that's ready for walks, playtime, training, and plenty of adventures. He's also earned the title of Escape Artist, so he'll need a secure yard and a family that's committed to keeping him safe while he continues learning the rules of the game. Because Sega is still learning to trust, he'll need to meet everyone in the home before adoption, and we recommend a home with kids ages 12 and up who can help him build confidence at his own pace. Every great game has a reward at the end, and Sega's is simple: a family that believes in him. With time, consistency, and lots of love, this sweet pup has all the potential to become the loyal best friend you've been searching for. Game on! Sega will be neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations before he hits "Start" on his next adventure—with you.

Story
Senior Spotlight: Meet Edith 💛🐾 Edith is the kind of girl who makes it very easy to fall in love. At 7 years old, this sweet Labrador Retriever mix has the perfect senior-dog balance: old enough to know what she likes, young enough to still have plenty of love, tail wags, and snack enthusiasm to share. And speaking of snacks… Edith is very food motivated, which is basically her polite way of saying treats are the key to her heart. 🦴 Edith is a big, beautiful girl weighing about 105 pounds, and she has been sweet with staff since arriving at WVHS. She did well with handling and vaccines at intake, and we know there is a family out there who will see what we see: a gentle, deserving dog who just needs someone to give her the soft landing she deserves. Edith is: 🐾 7 years old 🐾 Labrador Retriever mix 🐾 Female, spayed 🐾 Vaccinated and microchipped 🐾 About 105 pounds 🐾 Sweet and food motivated 🐾 Recommended for kids 8+ Edith has also been noted as needing future dental care, so her adopter should be prepared to follow up with their own veterinarian after adoption. Our team can talk through what we know and answer questions during the adoption process. Senior pets have a special kind of love to give. They are grateful, loyal, and so ready to spend their days being someone’s best friend. Edith is ready for a comfy bed, yummy treats, gentle walks, and a family who will love her exactly as she is. Come meet Edith at West Valley Humane Society and see why senior dogs are truly something special. 💛
