Meet Kingston! He's an approximately 1-year-old lab mix. He's very playful and has a lot of puppy in him. He does play bite but he's not mean at all. He weighs 57 pounds. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Mattie is back with us due to her owner's declining health and needing to move to a care center, where Mattie wasn't able to make the move. Her previous owner and family say she has been the best dog for her elderly owner. She has been very well loved! Mattie was initially surrendered into our care in March of 2022. At that time, her owner at the time was experiencing health concerns and could no longer care for Mattie. She has stolen several of our hearts here at Safe Haven during her couple of stays... but we know there is a forever home out there for her! Once where she can continue living her life to the fullest - and receiving all of the spoils in the world!  Mattie has been non-reactive to dogs here at the shelter, though she has never lived with another dog before. Her previous owner had a fenced-in yard that she loved. They say she enjoyed meeting the neighbor dogs through the fence, and always did well. She loves her walks and getting exercise! Mattie is current on all vetwork and is ready to find herself her forever home!If you're interested in meeting Mattie, please complete an online adoption application found on our website www.wesavepets.com. Once the application has been submitted, a Safe Haven volunteer will be in contact to discuss the next steps of the meeting process.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 24, 2024, 11:59 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Murphy came to us as a local stray - after never being reclaimed, he has found himself in search of his new forever home! It has been a joy to get to know Murphy. He is a sweet young boy - always in search of people... and attention, of course! He enjoys going for walks and being outdoors. Being a fairly young boy yet, any basic housetraining, obedience skills, etc. should be in store for his boy. We know he is already off to a great start as he has rarely had accidents indoors while being with us, and already knows basic commands like 'sit' and 'shake'. He is a smart boy!Murphy has not been with us long enough to have any direct introductions to other dogs in our care, but he has shown to be non-reactive towards other dogs nearby. We think he may enjoy having a play buddy in his new home, he has lots of puppy-like energy to burn. Murphy has been brought up-to-date on his vaccinations, has been microchipped, received monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives - so he is ready to begin his search for his new forever home!If you're interested in meeting Murphy, please complete an online adoption application found on our website at www.wesavepets.com. Once the appliation has been submitted, a Safe Haven volunteer will be in contact to discuss the next steps of the meeting process. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 24, 2024, 11:59 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Willow and her four adorable littermates came to Safe Haven after another local animal shelter reached out asking for help with a litter of puppies that came into their care. The puppies owner passed away leaving behind seven puppies and their mother. Another local rescue was able to help with taking the mother and two of the puppies, so we were ready to take on the care of the five remaining young ones. These puppies are around 16 weeks of age (born 1/17/24).  Their mother (Sky) is a black lab mix and the father (Torres) is a shepherd/husky mix - both are pictured for reference. We have a feeling these little ones will grow up to be a larger dog in their near future  We have a feeling these little ones will grow up to be quite large in their near future! They are not quite released for adoption or visitors yet - but will be ready in about one week once they have been cleared. Their ideal family will be committed to taking a puppy obedience class right away to get started on the right foot - they will need a family that can commit to continue proper socialization and also all the work that goes into house-training a puppy, which requires a lot of patience and persistence with working on a schedule. Puppies need to be taken outside frequently - as often as every 4 hours in the beginning. So an ideal home for these puppies will be one where they won't have long periods of time during the day spent alone, so they can have the best chance of successful housetraining and have years of wonderful love and devotion to focus on! If you are interested in adopting Willow or one of her littermates please fill out an adoption application as the first step of the adoption process. The adoption application can be found on our website at www.wesavepets.com. Once the application has been approved, a Safe Haven  volunteer will be in contact to set up a meeting/adoption time. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 24, 2024, 11:59 am
