Story
Meet Jet — the cutest dude around! (JET lives in Levelland, Texas with a Levelland Animal Friends foster family...he will be transported through Project Freedom Ride when he is adopted) *8 Months Old as of 11-09-25 *Will weigh about 30 lbs full grown *Dog-Friendly *Treat Motivated *Neutered, fully vaccinated and heartworm negative If you’re looking for a sweet, easygoing companion who still knows how to have fun — Jet is your guy! His life started out a bit rocky as he was homeless in a tiny rural town in Texas. But, his luck changed when he landed in a great foster home that has taken care of his every need! Jet is a laid-back pup who enjoys a good play session with toys, but he’s just as happy relaxing by your side. He likes meeting new people and gets along well with other dogs, making him a great fit for many home types. He’s doing well learning his leash manners and is very treat motivated — which means training is fun and rewarding for both of you. He’s the perfect mix of puppy energy and calm temperament and should mature around 30 pounds — a great medium-sized buddy! Jet is ready for a family who will love him, continue his training, and share life’s adventures — big and small. If Jet sounds like your new best friend, reach out — he can’t wait to meet you! 🐾 Please reach out or fill out an adoption application today! ****Adoption/inquiry form link (please copy and paste in your browser): https://form.jotform.com/241436494645160 Jet is available through Levelland Animal Friends, a partner rescue of Project Freedom Ride. Story
Welcome to rescue, Tinsel!  She is a parvo survivor and adjusting to her new surroundings at her foster home.  She's getting lots of TLC.  Tinsel is a Lab mix, born 8/17/25.  We'll share updates and more information about Tinsel as we learn more about her!  Just look at her sweet face - she will make a great addition to any family! Please Note:  Tinsel came to rescue Parvo+ and won’t be able to go to her furever home until released from the vet as she will be “shedding” parvo until then.  We encourage you to apply to adopt so we can start the process now! The suggested adoption donation for Tinsel is $485, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Information about the adoption process:  All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note:  We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc.   If the dog or cat you adopt is older than 6 months of age and not spayed or neutered, you will receive a voucher to alter the pet at Val Verde Animal Hospital in Omaha, at no cost to you.  Or you can alter the pet at your own vet and be reimbursed $100 for dogs, and $50 for cats, of total cost.  If the dog or cat is younger than 6 months of age, adopter will be responsible for the cost of altering the pet at the vet of their choice.  If proof of alter is received by Muddy Paws prior to the pet turning 6 months of age, a reimbursement of $100 for dogs and $50 for cats, will be sent to you to help cover expenses.  [Muddy Paws can also suggest a vet with a reduced cost for alters.]  All puppies and kittens MUST be spayed or neutered by 6 months of age.  All dogs and cats MUST be spayed or neutered no later than one month after adoption is finalized.  Thank you in advance for your compliance. ##2611880##

Story
Hi, I'm Merlin! I'm quite a handsome boy, a petite black lab mix. I only weigh 45 pounds, so I'm a great medium size. Right now, I'm almost 10 years old. I killed a chicken and my person brought me back to PCHS afer having me for 5 years :(. I'm a joy, calm, sweet and just ready to spend my senior years with you. If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##948480##

Story
Meet Paisley, a six-year-old lab mix who believes personal space is a myth invented by cats. This professional cuddle engineer is fully house-trained (no accidents since the Great Puppy Pad Rebellion of 2019) and has mastered the ancient art of "sit" with the enthusiasm of someone waiting for treats. Paisley is seeking a throne-I mean, home-where she can reign as the one and only furry monarch, preferably with older, respectful subjects (kids) who understand that lap rights are non-negotiable. If you're looking for a velcro dog who will love you harder than you love coffee on Monday mornings, Paisley is ready to audition for the role of your full-time snuggle overlord. $135.00 Fee includes initial vaccines, worming, microchip with registration, and free vet health exam. This pet has been fed Country Vet Naturals, donated to us by Country Vet. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Brown Weight: 48.6 Age: 6yrs 2mths 3wks

Story
- Full of puppy energy, and once he's had a chance to get some of that out, he's attentive and curious - Loves toys and will trade them out nicely - A little shy at times, but warms up fairly quickly and once he feels safe he will happily come up for pets; may follow you around to see what you're doing - he just wants to be part of things - Sits pretty well when you ask and takes treats nicely; would love to learn more things! - Was fully housetrained and crate-trained in his previous home; just remember that any dog may need time to get used to a new routine - Loves going on walks and does best with a harness- Lived with another dog but can be shy and unsure of new dogs; may enjoy a confident dog friend in his new home (dog intro recommended)- Has lived with kids, but is still learning how big he is and to watch out for those around him, so we think he would do best in a home where all family members are big enough and mature enough to be OK with his size and energy- We don't know his history with cats This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. If you're interested in fostering to adopt, please reach out to meetme@arl-iowa.org.All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. Primary Color: Brown Age: 0yrs 9mths 3wks
