Duke is a wonderful companion dog who has been bounced around various homes in his young life. Because of his past, he can be cautious when meeting new people; however, if you sit quietly, he'll soon be over to put his head in your lap with eyes hopeful and asking, "Will you be my friend?" A stable household without chaos or drama is what Duke desires. In foster care, he lives happily with his work from home foster parents and their friendly big dog. Duke is an excellent office dog and he understands that the doggy door to the backyard is used to go outside to potty. He crates well overnight. He is not a picky eater. He appreciates a good game of stuffed animal fetch or chasing his foster brother around the yard before returning to his office bed for a nap. He enjoys a nice sniff walk and hasn't ever shown signs of reactivity to other dogs, cats, or people while out on his leash. He's not a puller and can rate his speed to yours. When he is unsure of a new situation or new people, he likes to hang back until he's ready to meet and greet. He is not aggressive, just a bit shy of new people. Having a confident foster sibling has worked wonders for Duke in such situations. He gains confidence readily from observing how an extrovert just saunters up to anyone. His bark-o-meter is low, reserved for alerting his family that someone new has entered the property. He is not incessant about it, and quits when his person asks. Duke doesn't seem to have been around many children; however, a calm, mature child who gives him thirty seconds of patience to be introduced will have a furever fan. For this reason, a home with children older than ten years old is recommended at this time. If you allow it, he'd love to be your lap dog or snuggle buddy on the couch during television time. If you're home more than gone, and you have a nice, playful dog in need of a sibling, Duke may be the one for you!

We got Arlo shortly after losing another pet at just 5 months old. He is 3 years old now. He’s been a good family addition but has always been very anxious this anxiety grew tenfold when our newborn entered the picture. When he started growling at the baby we knew we couldn’t risk keeping him any longer. He does well with older kids and other animals (shown with relatives pets) but has a hard time with babies. We just want Arlo to go to a home where he feels safe and can relax with space to let out his energy. We’re just not able to provide that for him right now.

Bucky is an approximately 7-year-old male Lab/Pitt mix with separation anxiety. He was initially my 70-year-old mom's dog and was a great companion, but we had to place her in a memory care facility two years ago. My late 70's mother-in-law took over his care at that point but unexpectedly passed away last year. Bucky is an extremely loving dog and gets along well with our dog and other dogs, but he cannot be left alone in our home. He shows severe signs of anxiety with slobbering, panting and pacing and chewing up things. He is also good with children of all ages, and we’ve never had any issues with aggression or anything like that. Unfortunately, we cannot keep him because our family is active, and we have to leave the house often. He does not like cats and any other small creatures. He has the potential to be an amazing companion. We are willing to send him to whoever can help foster him, with a donation for his care, as well.
