Story
Flint is a young lab mix that has a gaze that will break your heart. We don't know all of what all he has been through, but his eyes tell us that he has had rough life so far, but now, after having some time to heal emotionally and physically in a loving foster home, he believes he's a lap dog! He is a very sweet dog, fine around cats. When he first came to us, he had several puncture wounds and scars, which lead us to believe he may have been used as a bait dog. His physical wounds are all healed now, and he's really starting to see that there is truly hope for a good life, He is up to date on vaccines, neutered and microchipped. Flint weighs 40 lbs. Flint does not like to be confined, is getting better about being crated, but really prefers to avoid crates. He has also masted house training!

Story
Luna is a spayed, 6 year old lab mix. She has been used to running loose on 20 acres her whole life and sleeping in the garage at night. Luna is seeking a new home with a securely fenced back yard where she will be safe, when she's in the mood to be outside. She's never been an "inside dog" but like all dogs adopted through the Somerset-Pulaski County Humane Society, it is a MUST that her adoptive family welcome her into their home to be part of the family. Don't let Luna's age or the fact that she's never been an "indoor dog" deter you from adopting her. Our experience has been that most former "outside dogs" truly consider being inside a mega-privilege and house train VERY quickly. Some don't need any training at all, just an observant family that can recognize their signals when they need to go outside to potty. Adult dogs are also wonderful to adopt, especially for busy families! They are past the puppy stage of chewing, bouncing all over the place and generally getting into stuff that they shouldn't and usually don't require the constant vigilance of raising a pup. She is incredibly loving and would do well with an active single person or an active couple. Luna loves car rides, she likes hiking and being outdoors with her human. But, Luna doesn’t like other dogs much and really doesn't like cats, so she needs to be the only dog in the household. She is used to teenagers but not small children. Luna is under going some medical treatment right now for heart worms and will be evaluated frequently. She will be brought up-to-date on vaccines prior to adoption.

Story
Wingo is a 7 1/2 years old, 68 lbs. mix breed. He is crate and house trained. Not good with cats. He's a very loving, low-energy guy! He has a thyroid condition, for which he needs daily medication. Since he's been in foster care and received love, proper vet care and daily medication, he's dropped 14 lbs! Now, he's a svelte, proper gentleman!

Story
Elin is 3 ½ years old, weighs 65 pounds. She was adopted 3 and a half years ago, but was just recently returned for bruising a child (bit, but did not break skin), hence the "not good with children" in her description - she would likely be fine with older children (12 and up), just not small rowdy kids. At the moment, she is just settling into her foster home, so is quite unsure of herself and her surroundings. As she settles in, she is being a bit "dog selective" -- she's prefers to not have the other dogs in her foster home get too close, will snap to warn them away. She gets super excited when she sees a leash, and is VERY needy. She is her foster mom's shadow at all times, but loves running in large fenced areas. Kenna Hellen is up-to-date on shots, spayed and microchipped. She needs a loving, active home where she will be an indoor dog, AND get lots and lots of exercise by helping her pet parents with their exercise routines and/gardening activities!
