Meet your best boy Lucky Charms! He is a lab mix sitting around 53lbs and 4yrs old. Lucky Charms is such a sweetheart of a boy! He absolutely adores snacks and was rather intrigued by a tennis ball. He walks decently on leash, especially if you`ve got a treat pouch with you. He is still quite new to us so we haven`t gotten to see him around kids/cats/other dogs yet. Adoption fee is $200 plus tax. We do our very best in providing truthful information about our adoptable dogs. If you do not see information about one of our dogs’ personalities, it is because we do not know much about them yet. We do appreciate a dog meet and greet to see if the dogs are compatible, an appointment is helpful but not required. We can complete a cat introduction at the shelter in a safe manner to get a sense of the dog’s behavior towards cats. With that knowledge, we will provide a blanket statement that you are ultimately responsible for keeping your cat safe. We recommend crate training for all our dogs while they adjust to a new home environment. Please bring along your family to meet the dog you’re looking at to see that it is a good fit. Also bring landlord permission for adopting a dog which includes any breed or weight restrictions.

Story
Charlie is a 6-year-old black Lab and Labradoodle mix with the look and heart of a classic Labrador, just in an extra-tall frame. He is friendly, affectionate, and full of personality. Charlie loves to play and enjoys a good nap just as much, making him a wonderful balance of active and laid-back. While he may bark when someone first comes through the door, it doesn’t take long before he’s happily running up to greet them, eager for pets and attention. He does very well with children and enjoys being part of a busy, loving household. As a large dog, Charlie would thrive in a home where he has plenty of space to move around and owners who can spend time playing with him and keeping him engaged. He is healthy and well cared for, with all vaccinations up to date through Green Lake Pet Hospital in Spicer, Minnesota. Charlie would make a loyal, loving companion for a family or individual ready to give him the room and attention he deserves.

Story
Hi! I am Nymeria, but also go by 'Nee-Mee'. I am an adult, female dog that is mix of Husky and Yellow Labrador. I have spent most of my life with one owner, in an apartment setting and I came to the shelter after my owner had to move out of state. My personality can be described as cuddly, affectionate, loyal and a people-pleaser. I enjoy playing with my toys and love to be by people. I adore hugs, kisses and pets. I am extremely loyal and I adore being by people. When I was a puppy, I was attacked by another dog and I got really hurt. This experience has shaped my relationship with other dogs. They are super scary to me and I am not sure if they are going to hurt me. I will bark a lot when I see a dog and I am trying to tell them to not approach. For this, I need to be the only dog in the home. I do love to go out on walks, play at the park and exercise my long legs. Despite being an older adult, I still have lots of energy and I love to play with toys, squeakers and various dog toys. I am not wild or crazy like a puppy but I am not sedentary like an older senior aged dog. I am 'just right' in the temperament and energy department. I am spayed, and I am up to date on my vaccines - bordetella, distemper and rabies. I have been Heartworm, Erhlichlia, Lyme's and Anaplasma tested and I am negative for all. I receive routine flea and tick preventatives, monthly as well as some well deserved pampering periodically: brushing, nail trims & ear cleaning. My ideal home includes an active home where I can still go out, run and play with my family. I have not been around small children. My shelter family says I likely would do ok with children but they need to understand and respect my boundaries. It is important that they respect me because I only want to love and care for my family and not get hurt. I have not been around cats so I do not know how I would do with them. I need a family that is caring, compassionate and loving. I want a family that is patient, willing to give me what I need: a warm bed, plenty of good food & clean water, and good ol' pets and love. Once I warm up, I enjoy being pet and loved on. It may take me some time to warm up - so it is important my new family is patient with me and allowing me to warm up in my own time. My shelter family works tirelessly to ensure I and my friends go to the right family. If you feel that person is you, I'd love to meet you. Please submit an application if you'd like to be considered becoming my family!

Story
Baxter may have come to us as a stray, but one thing is for certain—he is 100% good boy. While we don't know anything about his past, Baxter has quickly stolen the hearts of staff and volunteers with his sweet personality, happy attitude, and endless tail wags. This handsome guy absolutely loves people and is always excited to make new friends. Whether you're stopping by his kennel or spending time with him outside, Baxter is ready to greet you with a wagging tail and a big smile. He truly enjoys being around his humans and is happiest when he's included in the fun. One of Baxter's favorite activities is going for walks. He loves getting outside to explore, sniff around, and take in all the sights and smells of the world around him. Whether you're looking for a walking buddy for neighborhood strolls or someone to join you on outdoor adventures, Baxter is more than happy to tag along. Baxter is also showing that he is dog-friendly here at the shelter and has done well meeting other canine friends. If you already have a dog at home, a meet-and-greet would be the perfect way to see if they're a match. Not only is Baxter friendly and affectionate, but he's also a smart boy. He already knows commands like "sit" and "shake" and enjoys showing off his skills for treats and praise. He seems eager to learn and would likely enjoy continuing his training with his future family. Baxter's past may be a mystery, but his future is full of potential. He is the kind of dog who can brighten even the toughest day with a wag of his tail and his joyful spirit. If you're looking for a loyal companion, a walking partner, and a best friend who will greet you every day with unconditional love, Baxter is ready to fill that role.
