Hi! I’m Oyster (or at least this is what I’ve been called for the few weeks since arriving at the shelter). I was picked up as a stray and hung out at the shelter for a bit before landing at my foster home. The vet thinks I’m around 2 yrs old so I’m still a bit goofy and not really sure of my size. I am a super happy boy that loves everything around me! I can’t limit my excitement to just a tail wag…my whole body wiggles! Sometimes my tail gets so excited against a cabinet or table and it sounds like I’m beating a drum! I am house trained and touch my nose to the doorknob when I need to go outside to potty. My foster parents have been teaching me all sorts of new things like sit, stay, down and off. I can get excited on our walks and will use all my good boy strength to pull on the leash when I see something interesting! My foster parents put me in a crate when they leave because I’m still young and tempted by all the fun things around a house! I sleep in a crate at night, but I do enjoy the occasional nap on the bed after breakfast :) Gender: male House Trained! I go to the door to let my foster parents know when I need to go potty! Spay or Neutered? Neutered April 2026 Ok with kids? I’ve met lots of kids and love the pets they give, but sometimes forget my size Ok with dogs? I love playing with my foster brother. We rough house a lot and I chase him when he plays fetch (I don’t quite understand what he’s doing)! Ok with cats? My foster family has 2 cats that I like to watch and sometimes even lick them! Crate Trained or not? I happily hang out in my crate with my foster parents leave and at night. Heartworm negative! Likes or dislikes? I love going on walks, chewing on bones and most importantly, being around my people! Foster mom calls me a “velcro dog” because I follow my foster parents all around the house! How else will I know if I’m missing out on something!!

He is a 1-year-old Labrador mix that we found wandering under an abandoned house. Since bringing him in, he has shown himself to be incredibly sweet, loving, and full of personality. He has a playful, energetic side and loves being outside, running around, and getting attention from his people. He is very affectionate and enjoys being around others, he will happily follow you around and just wants to be included in whatever you’re doing. He’s still young, so he has that fun, hyper puppy energy and would do best with someone who has the time, patience, and space to keep him active and continue helping him grow. This is a very hard decision…but I am looking for a home that can truly give him the time, attention, and care he deserves. Ideally, his new family would be active or have a yard where he can play and burn off his energy. He is a great dog with a lot of love to give, and I just want to make sure he finds a stable, caring home where he can thrive.
