Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.ROMEO hails from CAT LAKE in Northern Ontario and he came south with his mum and 5 siblings to find his forever home. His mum is a Labrador Retriever/Gt Pyrenees mix and weighs 60lbs but his dad is unknown. The breed mix we have him listed as and the size he’ll grow to be is just a guess as we really have no way of knowing. He’s received his 3 sets of puppy vaccines including his rabies, a microchip and been deemed a healthy boy by his vet. His nick name is Chunk due to being the biggest in the litter. He’s a happy-go-lucky, confident, fun-loving, easy going guy who loves nothing better than giving out puppy kisses and cuddling with you on the couch. ROMEO is crate trained and sleeps quietly in it through the night and will also take his naps in there during the day. He’s 99% house trained and will let you know when he has to go outside for a bathroom break. He’s doing really well on his leash walks and enjoys going on them. He’s a well socialized, easy going puppy who loves to play with with all sorts of toys and play chase with the resident dogs in his foster home. He would love to be in a home with some fur siblings but he’d be equally as happy being an only child. He would also love to find an active family who will take him on walks, hikes and basically enjoy being outdoors with him. He doesn’t travel too well in a vehicle and it’s definitely not his favourite place to be. On a couple of occasions he’s had an upset tummy in it too.  ROMEO’s being fostered with a trainer and he’s a lot of puppy training so is a well mannered boy who knows all the basic commands and then some. Lots of different size dogs come to visit the home and he’s got along well with all of them. He hasn’t met a cat but if the cat is dog savvy and with a monitored introduction they should get along okay. Children should be aged 6 and up and he does require a fenced-in yard.  Puppies are fun and cute but also require a lot of work, patience and dedication to training. We need his potential adopter to be in agreement to sign him up for obedience/puppy training in order to adopt him. His neuter is included in his adoption fee and will be performed at the Barrie SPCA by no later than 9 months of age or he reaches 60lbs (whichever comes first.) We also need you to be in agreement with this in order to adopt him.  If you would like to meet ROMEO then please submit the adoption application to do so. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 27, 2024, 12:50 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.PETAL hails from Dryden and headed south to find herself a family to call her very own. She is spayed, vaccinate including rabies and microchipped. This beautiful girl with one blue eye and one brown is just the gentlest soul who loves to be around her people. She’s also very loving and loves nothing more than to cuddle with you on the couch and being told what a good girl she is.  PETAL is well socialized with other dogs and has got along well with all the ones she’s met. She has 2 dogs in her foster home and they all play very well together. She needs a home with a fenced yard so she can run around and play and be kept safe. She has had no training on how to walk nicely on a leash but she does pretty well on it considering that but would definitely benefit from some formal leash training. She’s crate trained and will sleep quietly in it at night but she’s not so much a fan of it during the daytime. She house trained and will let you know when she wants to go outside for a bathroom break.  PETAL’s been having a cottage life and loves to go swimming and body boarding. She’s pretty adventurous and definitely sees lots of them in her future so would love an active family who would include her in them.&#226&#128&#139 She would suit a home with another dog but she would also do well as an only dog provided she had people around her for most of the day. She’s great with children and has a 4yr old in her foster home and they’ve already become fast friends. She hasn’t met a cat so we’re not recommending a home with one in it. This lovely, brave little girl was hit by a vehicle and suffered a broken pelvis and femur. She has had extensive X-rays and it’s been determined that she didn’t need surgery but crate rest to heal the broken bones. She has had around 6 weeks of crate rest and that’s what helped her bones to heal. She has no noticeable limp from her injuries but if she’s had a busy day a slight limp has been noticed cone the evening. It is recommended that she be on a supplement for the rest of her life to keep her bones strong and healthy. PETAL’s looking for a family who’s an active one as the stronger her leg gets the further she can walk so will soon be up to going on the trails hiking and looking for adventures. If you are interested in meeting PETAL then please submit an application. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 27, 2024, 12:50 am
