Sam was adopted from LCAS 5 years ago, but unfortunately his pet parent passed away, leaving no one to care for Sam. Sam is a 9 year old, 61 pound, neutered male Labrador and Border Collie mix who may be a senior but he still has plenty of energy and love to give. Sam is super smart and is a great ball dog...he can play fetch for hours! This handsome guy would do great in a home that can give him the exercise and mental stimulation that he's looking for. Sam lived with another dog in his previous home, but should meet any potential canine housemates. Sam cannot live with cats or small animals. Come on down and meet this playful guy and find your new best friend! **Appointments and completed dog adoption applications are required for dog meet and greets, so please call the Shelter at 541-265-0720 to speak with a staff member about the animal you are interested in adopting. **All adoption candidates have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, flea treated and wormed! Adoptions include a free veterinary visit, a coupon for Feed Corral on Hwy 101, and a coupon from Mini Pet Mart. If you live in Lincoln County and have dogs in the home, they must be licensed in Lincoln County (requires current rabies vaccination) and do a meet and greet here at the shelter. Hey there! I'm excited that you've clicked on my profile! Swipe right! Am I right?! I'm Schnitzel and I am likely a Lab and Pitty mix breed boy. I'm young at heart as they say. I'm about three years old and a lean seventy-five pounds. I'm working on learning that people don't always communicate like us dogs. I'm doing great working on my manners and I'm learning that y'all don't always appreciate an enthusiastic greeting like I do. So, I'm being taught to sit for treats and I'm waiting to say hi until my feet are on the ground. I can tell you that I'm very food motivated, and I am more than happy to "sit" for a good snack. I know how to lay "down", "shake" and I know this cool trick of "up" where I stand on a log or big ol' rock. I think that's a pretty cool trick! I love attention and belly rubs are great! I think I would like to have an active home where we can get daily walks or daily puzzles and training. All the staff here say that I'm a smart guy and I'm super excited to learn new things. I'm a people please and I'm doing my best to learn as fast as possible! I'm learning some leash manners and some of my favorite days include a pack walk with some of my shelter buddies. While I enjoy many dogs, I sometimes have a rough and tumble kind of play style. Which not all dogs love. If you have a dog at home, I would need to meet them before being adopted to make sure they like me too! I can't wait to meet you in person, let's call it a date! My adoption fee is 175, Benton County adopters have an additional licensing fee.
