Story
Another one of our Criminal Minds bunch, meet Tara Lewis. This sweet girl was dumped in south Houston due to no fault of her own. Upon getting her checked for a chip (which there was none), the vet determined she had pretty severe heartworms, likely why she was abandoned. We started her on treatment immediately and are hopeful that she will make full recovery. She is potty trained, good with all animals and people. She knows sit, stay, shake, etc. She is the perfect family dog anyone could ask for. Please show her not all humans will abandon her!To have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport (dogs only), please visit our website.https://longwayhome.org/apply ❤ Long Way Home makes no guarantees on breed--most animals we receive from shelters are mixed breeds. As long as they need rescue, that's what is most important to us.

Story
Want something sweet? Check out this amazing duo - Hope and Buster! These two gentle souls were seized on a cruelty (neglect) charge and deserve so much better than they have experienced. Despite their neglect, they both have retained their loving personalities. They are well mannered and so excited about the joys of life like pup cups! They are up for adoption separately or together. Hope is 13 years old and 49#s. Hope always looks like she's smiling....so cute! She loves to play with her squeaky toys, she loves to snuggle up on a lot of blankets. She will mound them up just right and then go to sleep on top. She not a barker. She will whimper when she's separated from you because she wants to be with her people. She seeks out attention just by standing next to you and holding her head up to be petted. She does not jump on you. She will shake for a treat. She sleeps in laundry and goes potty either on the pee pads or outside since she is an older gal. She is the alpha dog with her current pal so she may be dog selective in her friends. She's a sweetie with people, loving and gentle. To have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport (dogs only), please visit our website.https://longwayhome.org/apply ❤ Long Way Home makes no guarantees on breed--most animals we receive from shelters are mixed breeds.
