Story
Hope has been waiting for the one thing she wants most in the world—a family to call her own. 💔 At 13 years old, this gentle girl still has so much love to give.Hope’s heart is full of joy. She tries to play, even if her body can’t always keep up, and nothing makes her happier than being close to her person. Booty scratches? She’ll never say no—they are her absolute favorite! 💕She’s the ultimate cuddle buddy, perfectly content to nap on the couch by your side. And come mealtime? That’s when her spunky side shines brightest—she’ll do her signature little “hop-up” dance with her food bowl, tail wagging the whole time. 🐾✅ House-trained🐕 Great with other dogs😎 Sun-bathing queenHope doesn’t need much—just someone to love her, scratch her booty, and let her soak up the sunshine in her golden years. Story
My neighbor in my apartment complex left in the middle of the night and left her in a kennel outside my door and moved when evicted. I took her into my house because it was extremely hot outside it was July, Animal control said because I took her into my house she was now my responsibility. I always had small dogs, dachshunds, and so this was a big adjustment. She is house trained, kennel trained and walks with a leash but I have trouble with her pulling me because I am petite and she is strong and when we go on a walk she wants to run and I have a torn rotator cuff. She wears a harness, I just bought her a new one, which seems to give better control. My male neighbor has no trouble walking her and keeping her under control when she gets excited. I had problems with her chewing when I first got her if I left her in the apartment unsupervised. I always put her in the kennel when I leave and at night and no further chewing episodes. I just had emergency abdominal surgery. Need TXp>

Story
Hi, I’m Buster! 🐾I’m a 13-year-old Lab mix, and I’m still holding out hope for my forever family. 🥹My life hasn’t been the easiest. I was found living in a kennel, neglected and abused. Just when I thought I was safe, I learned I was only days away from euthanasia. Thankfully, I was given a second chance, and I’m soaking up every moment of it. ✨I’m a low-energy, gentle, laid-back guy who just wants to be near my person. Talk to me, and my tail will start wagging in big, happy circles. I love being petted, lounging next to you, playing with my toys, and snuggling into my cozy blankets. I’m a proud couch potato, and I’m also a little hard of hearing—but that just means I sleep extra soundly during our naps. 😌When it comes to other dogs, I can be a little grumpy if they interrupt my cuddle time (a guy has to have his boundaries, right?). But it’s all just a little “grumble,” nothing serious—sometimes my playful foster siblings even tease me into joining their fun. I currently live peacefully with 10 other dogs, but I’d also be perfectly happy as your one-and-only getting all the attention. What I’m dreaming of now is a quiet, loving retirement home where I can spend my days soaking up love, staying warm in my blankets, and enjoying the simple joys of life. Could that be with you?To have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport (dogs only), please visit our website.https://longwayhome.org/apply ❤ Long Way Home makes no guarantees on breed--most animals we receive from shelters are mixed breeds.
