Grasshopper

Labrador Retriever Mixed Breed (Medium)

Female, 2 yrs 2 mos
Stephenville, TX
Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Not good with kids, Not good with dogs, Not good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Grasshopper was brought in as a stray and was never reclaimed. Upon intake she was super scared and wanted nothing to do with anyone. She is a sweet dog who will need time and patience in a new home. Since working with her she loves to give kisses through the fence but will run and hide once someone is in her kennel. If you sit in there with her long enough, she will come out of hiding occasionally to receive pets. She does not walk well on a leash. She does love toys and will tear up any stuffed ones. She will take treats but goes in a hiding spot to eat them. While in foster she opened up and we learned she did good in car rides, being groomed, and being left alone as long as she is in a crate. She did okay with her potty training but will need a refresher course once she's in a home. We do not know how she is with other animals and as always, we highly recommend a meet and greet with any current household dogs. Grasshopper is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, heartworm negative and on prevention.

Story
Kentucky was found with her sister Kimber and they were not reclaimed. Kentucky is very sweet, cuddly, soft and will be very loyal. She loves running around, playing fetch, being silly and does well on a leash for walks. She is quiet in the house, likes to snuggle and take naps in the sunlight. She is mostly potty trained according to her foster and does great in the crate. She is making progress learning basic commands and walks well on the leash. She does well with other dogs, but can be competitive for attention. She has done okay in the foster home with a cat, but is overly interested in him and may need to be supervised during any cat time. We do not know how she is with livestock. She loves toys. Kentucky is spayed, fully vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped.

Story
Kimber was found with her sister Kentucky and they were not reclaimed. They were both a little skittish with humans at first, but have warmed up a lot since coming in. She is not potty trained. She does okay on a leash. Previous fosters stated she warmed up to them pretty quickly once she was out of the shelter. She loves to cuddle. While she tolerates her sister, Kimber is not dog friendly and will need to be the only dog in the home. She did good while at a dog park but gets too protective over her people when in her own space. She also resource guards her food. We do not know how she is with cats or livestock. She loves treats, pets, and toys. Kimber is spayed, fully vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped.

Not good with kids, Not good with dogs, Not good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Alexie is a shy but sweet girl that was surrendered after her owner passed away. Sometime she greets people with confidence, but other times she can be a little shyer and will hang back. She walks pretty well on a leash and does well in her kennel overnight. She does howl sometimes when left in her kennel inside. She rides well in the car but does need help up sometimes. Stairs are a no-go for her unless someone is willing to take time teaching her how to go up them. Alexie came in with several other dogs and should be dog friendly, but a meet and greet is always recommended if going to a home with other dogs. We are unsure of how she is with cats or livestock. Alexie is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed. She did test positive for heartworms and has started the slow-kill method of treatment. She will need to be kept on an ivermectin based heartworm preventative until she can be retested in a year.

Story
Tucker is the very BEST family dog. He LOVES children (young and old) fiercely. He is a big fan of the outdoors, and playing fetch is his very favorite game! He has the kindest soul, enjoys a good nap, and wouldn’t hurt a fly. My husband used to work from home a couple of days per week, but now between my husband traveling for work and little league sports, our poor Tucker has to stay home alone wayyy too much, and it just isn’t fair for our sweet boy who loves to play. He is due for shots this month, but he is neutered, microchipped, and in great health! He is crate trained, potty trained, and also does well just being left out in the house while you’re away. We have all of his crates, bedding, toys, and food to send him with, so you won’t need to buy a thing!
