Cassie is very smart and wants to please! She wants your attention and love! She needs reminding of her manners on jumping up to greet but listens very well. Cassie is fine with dogs smaller than her but is intimidated by large dogs! Crate trained & house broken! Needs her person or small family! She needs an active person or family. Kids 12 & up are fine. She just gets so excited and may knock smaller children over. Cassie has everything! Smart & beautiful! Now she just needs her forever family and home

Story
Jack is a beautiful black lab with a shiny coat. He loves water. He warms up to you slowly and has always been his gregarious brother Cooper's shadow. He will certainly miss being with Cooper and Cooper will definitely miss him and all the adventures they have had in their 9 months. Jack has had a 1/2 acre fenced yard to run in during the day. When prompted he will sit outside the door before coming inside to eat and sleep in a crate although Cooper likes more room to sleep and some nights they romp all night in the garage. Jack has not been housetrained but he doesn't make crate messrs. Jack is the mastermind and escape artist. After many 5ft fence adjustments we have come to the conclusion that Jack is just a good jumper who lives up to his name: Jumping Jack Flash. :)

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.UPDATE #2: His foster family has gone above and beyond helping him become a well-rounded canine by integrating him into their lives and home. One huge addition is the investment they made by enrolling Monty in a training class at Petco, where he graduated with honors! “Monty is very proud that he passed his class. The trainer said that he is ready to go right into a canine good citizen class and skip level 2. She also suggested that he might make a good therapy dog as he is very interactive with other people and dogs.” Monty is sixty pounds, lab mix, great with other dogs! He is ready for ADOPTION! - - - Update on Monty from his Foster: Monty is still doing really well. This week we have learned how to jump in the back of the car. We know sit and down really well. He also goes into his crate easily. Say “crate” and he just goes right in. He is also not a big barker. He might woof at another dog, but he doesn’t like to bark constantly which is really nice. His favorite toys are his bones, he loves them. We are house trained now and stand by the door when we want to go outside. - - - Monty is under a year old, a mixed breed with energy and love to share! It has been suggested he is Great Dane mix, but we guess lab/hound, based on his loving personality. Monty tries hard to be a welcome houseguest in his foster home.  He is fine with other dogs from what we can see.     PLEASE NOTE: This pet has been posted by Friends of Campbell County Animal Control, Rustburg, VA. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.UPDATE 6/4: BLUE, 2 years old, was adopted but returned after a couple weeks. No matter how hard we try, sometimes adopters have to figure things out for themselves, as was the case for this adoption. We are happy to announce that Blue has now been neutered, and celebrated yesterday by getting to play in the playyard, without his protective blue donut/cone, which kept him from licking his incision. Blue loves to play fetch with a tennis ball, pounces on it, as if it was a live toy and not just a ball, loves to pick it up and charge at his handler, and then avoid totally when he gets to you. He has a playful puppy, even at two years old, and we love him! He is housetrained, and does not want to mess in his kennel run, so will take off the minute he gets on a leash in order to potty. He would totally adore having a fenced area, kids, brave enough to tolerate an active Labrador, retriever mix, and adults in the household who appreciate his activity and devotion. Does he sound like he might work for you? Start with an application, please! He has been tested for heartworms, tick disease, and is current with all vaccines. He is housetrained, and fine with other dogs.  He does have high prey drive, like most excitable young dogs, and he would love nothing more than to give chase to deer, squirrels, rabbits, and most likely cats. For that reason, a fenced yard would be an extremely kind thing to have around, if you think you want to adopt him. Or, be the kind of adopter we really appreciate and take him for family dog training classes at one of our many local training facilities. He would absolutely LOVE any positive reinforcement classes, and would respond easily.      PLEASE NOTE: This pet has been posted by Friends of Campbell County Animal Control, Rustburg, VA.
