Charlotte is ready to find her forever home! 🏡 She’s about a year old, spayed and up to date on shots. She is a sweet and enthusiastic pup. She is completely potty trained and doesn’t show signs of separation anxiety. She would love an active owner who will invest time into training and exercise. She would do best in a home without cats or other small animals as she will chase them. Charlotte can’t wait to be someone’s new BFF 🫶💓

Story
Bonnie is very smart, energetic mischievous. She is appox 7 months. She knows what stay, sit, (sometimes) no means. She is kennel trained. She loves ice. She loves belly rubs. She chews on just about everything. I don't really want to give her up because I love her, but to be fair to her, she needs a lot of room to run. Her best friend is a chai weenie. She will come with the kennel, bowls. She's been on purina lamb and venison. She likes alpo treats.

Story
Minerva was found as a stray by a good Samaritan on West 10th Avenue in Kennewick. She currently weighs about 64 pounds and is now spayed & ready to go home today! There is just something about Minerva that makes her so incredibly easy to love. Maybe it`s the happy little pep in her trot, the adorable blend of Pit Bull and Labrador features, her eagerness to proudly show off that she knows how to sit and lay down, or the huge smile that appears across her face once she`s completely relaxed. Whatever it is, Minerva has a way of winning people over almost immediately. She loves being close to her people. If you sit down with her, don`t be surprised if she gently tucks herself right up against you, doing her very best to sit almost in your lap. She craves affection, enjoys spending time with people, and has the kind of sweet, affectionate personality that makes every interaction with her a joy.One thing we don`t want to see happen is for Minerva to be overlooked because of Black Dog Syndrome. While not a medical condition, Black Dog Syndrome is a well-known trend in animal shelters where black-coated dogs often wait significantly longer to be adopted than dogs with lighter-colored coats. Whether they`re harder to photograph, blend into kennel environments, or are simply passed over without people realizing it, amazing dogs like Minerva can spend far longer in shelters than they should. We hope you`ll look beyond her beautiful black coat, because underneath it is an incredible companion who deserves every chance at finding a loving home.Since Minerva was found as a stray, her history with other dogs or cats is unknown. Meet and greets are required with any dogs currently in the home prior to adoption.Minerva`s adoption fee is $50. She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and treated for fleas, ticks, and worms. Our shelter operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Holds, deposits, and pre-adoptions are not allowed. Animals may transfer to other shelters or rescues at any time.We have a feeling whoever gives this wonderful girl a chance is going to wonder how she was ever overlooked in the first place.

Story
This girl is gorgeous, energetic & ready to pack her bags to ride home with you! Her zest for life is something you can’t just sit back and watch, you just have to join in. Between her chocolatey brown coat, and her big brown eyes, she is an absolute doll. HISTORY Coco was picked up as a stray in June 2025. Two different potential families stepped forward, but neither wanted her back. They were not helpful in sharing information about her history, care, lifestyle, or social information. SOCIALIZATION We do not know a lot about her upbringing or past, this information is based on our experience with her in the last 2 months. Once Coco approves of you, you’re buddies for life. She is a little intense for smaller dogs, and kids younger than the teenage years, but can learn to be friendly with other dogs who match her energy. Coco can be slow to warm up to strangers. Her foster family takes her on local outings when they can, so she is learning to walk well on a leash, and behave in public. In her foster home, she has been a little intense for the dog and kids. She has not met the cats, but has engaged with the smaller dog appropriately, despite the mismatched energy levels. She has been exposed to few children while in our care. Based on her interactions with the kids in her foster home, she needs teens who are confident in knowing dog body language, and safety. She is a lot of dog for young kids learning to understand and engage with appropriate due to her energy. She has had very limited exposure to other dogs in our care. She appears to be friendly and curious, but enjoys getting to know you at her own pace. She has not had much playtime with the other dog in her foster home due to their mismatched energy levels and sizes. She is probably not safe with cats or other small prey animals. She is kept separate from the cats in her foster home. Coco has never had an opportunity to hurt a cat, but we'd consider the risk high. TEMPERAMENT & BEHAVIOR She is a high energy girl who would probably do well with access to a yard big enough for zoomies, and getting her energy out. She enjoys walks and outings, but is not a candidate for high dog traffic spaces due to being wary of strange dogs and people. Coco LOVES water! She will entertain herself for hours playing in water, and sunbathing. She loves to have the company of her humans while she enjoys rest time, and she does well getting her energy out in the yard. Car rides are also fun! Generally Coco is a quiet girl. She doesn't bark for no reason. However she might bark at strangers upon meeting. She does best being ignored while she gets to know you. She is very friendly, once she knows that you are a safe person to be around. Coco needs plenty of mental stimulation. She is very smart and will figure out ways to entertain herself, if not given healthy outlets. TRAINING Her house manners are generally good. She seems to be potty trained. She has not been in a crate that we know of, and her leash manners are a little bit rough due to her strength. She is used to a harness, and is learning to walk alongside her handler. Coco has not been trained to be off leash, and we would not recommend she is off leash any time soon. We believe you could work up to that slowly & safely, but initially it would be vital to keep her leashed. This girl is smart and wants to please, but she's typical of her breed in that he also has opinions of her own. She needs a strong, patient leader who will win her trust and work consistently on training. HEALTH We were told Coco was around 2 years old when she came to us, so we've designated June 14, 2023 as her birthday. She weighs around 70 lbs and is likely done growing at 2 years old. She is not yet sterilized. She is fully vaccinated, microchipped, and treated for internal and external parasites. All her available veterinary records will be provided at the time of adoption. ADOPTION Coco's adoption fee is $400. For more pictures and updates about her, see her album on our Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1063146682633087&type=3 Please note that HART does not have a facility. Our dogs live in foster homes, and are not available to meet potential adopters until after their adoption application has been approved. If you are interested in adopting Coco, please complete an application at https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HAWA/Dog. Our application process includes an online background check, vet interview, landlord/property manager interview (if in rental property), and interviews with personal references, other adults living on the property, and the applicant. Depending on various factors we may require a home check. The process usually takes about one week to complete. Most of our dogs are located in the Tri-Cities, Washington area, and if necessary we will transport them anywhere within the Pacific Northwest, at the adopter's expense. We do not ship our dogs via a third party; they are handed directly from a trusted HART representative to the adopter.
