Hi I’m Candy! I’m such a good girl! I’m here due to family issues, and my owners thinks it best to find another welcoming loving home. I'm a good girl but need someone to be patient and give me the time to come out of my shell. If you give me a chance and time to get to know you, I will be your friend forever!

If the question is not answered in the bio please send emails to   info@HeidisLegacyDogRescue.com "You've got some 'splaining to do!" Hey new best friend, We’re Lucy & Ricky! Our foster pawrents like to call us “Cece” & “Ricky Baker”, and we don’t mind at all! We’re about 2 years old, we think! All we know is that we were roaming the streets in New Mexico on June 24, 2022 when we were found and vetted. The vet said we were around 5-6 months old at the time. The nice family that found us kept us for a year until we all moved to Tampa. Our found family was having another baby and needed to move in with family. But too bad for us, the new house had multiple cats and we just don’t really get a long with cats. Now we’re being fostered in St. Pete, and it was like we’ve always lived here! We’re just happy pups living our best lives, waiting for our permanent forever home, together. Lucy: “First of all, bark bark bark, can I give you a bunch of kisses to show you how much I love you even though I just met you?? Thanks!! I think that need to kiss is because I think I’m part Chihuahua, maybe Dachshund, maybe something else? Now let me walk you through all my favorite things so you can prepare! First of all, I love my brother Ricky so much. When he’s not within eye sight, I like to make sure he’s around by finding him, and puling on his collar. He does the same to me too! We just love each other so much! I absolutely love snuggling under a blanket near my caretaker. If you have to get up to go do anything, don’t worry, I’ll come along! But as soon as you sit back down, it’s snuggle time. Sometimes my brother Ricky will try to take over my cuddle spot, and sometimes I let him after he tells me he REALLY wants to snuggle the human. My favorite is when BOTH humans are home so we have our own snuggle buddy. But we’ll settle for both sitting on you and pining for your attention. I am most excited when the humans wake up and will smother them with kisses and gentle nibbles. Sometimes, my 18lb self will get so excited I can’t control myself and I jump around with an open mouth. Im not trying to hurt anyone but sometimes my teeth will touch the humans skin and they tell me it hurts. (Even though I don’t think it really does…I just don’t think they want me doing that) Then!!! It’s breakfast time! I eat right next to Ricky where we enjoy our dry kibble with some chicken breast atop. If I leave to follow you around, Ricky will try to hijack my food! But he’s not mean about it, just sneaky! I like it best when you hang with me while we eat. After that it’s go time in the back yard for potty time. Ricky and I will sprint as fast as we can around the fenced in yard, chasing each other around and having some super fun wrestle mania moments! I am the ultimate lizard hunter and will run and chase them. I also like chasing just about anything! I’m so fast Ricky can hardly keep up! We love to wrestle and tumble around. And I LOVE toys! Oh boy oh boy! You toss a toy, and I’ll get it for you right away! Sometimes Ill even bury them so Ricky can’t find them, hehe. We are so used to playing freely in a fenced in yard that when our foster pawrents take us for walks, we give them a run for their money! We don’t really understand how walks work, BUT WE LOVE BEING OUTSIDE! Anyway, after dinner time we are ready to settle in for the night. Don’t get my wrong, we’d love to go out for a car ride or on an adventure, a walk, play in the backyard…but honestly, we’re super okay with just snuggling on the couch and catching up on some shows! I’d love to sleep with you in bed under the blankets but I am also ok sleeping in my crate with my blankie. Ricky: “HI BARK BARK BARK! I’m a big small boy who enjoys simple pleasures like snuggling, looking our the window with Lucy, snoozing, eating, treats, and chasing Lucy in the backyard. (She’s so fast!!!) Unlike Lucy, I’m not as emotional and won’t go super crazy when you get home. I’ll greet you with a couple kisses, a wagging tail, and promptly sit on you the moment I’m able. The first time I meet you I will have to greet you with my low woofs, but I quit that out as soon as I see you’re a good human. I am protective of my humans, but super curious so while the woof may startle you, I’m just a big baby who just wants a lil attention and I use my voice to obtain it! (Smart right?!) I love children because they are at my level and so fun to play with. I’m gentle with them but Lucy might steal their stuffy! (I might steal it back if she takes it!) It’s probably best that if you have a kiddo with stuffies, that you only let us play with Nyla Bones or other harder chew toys so we don’t get confused between a stuffy and our play toy! Lucy and I lovey to chase small animals, like mice, lizards, bunnies, squirrels, birds, ect. It feels like something implanted in our DNA that makes us tiny hunters. Oh, so new foster ma has cut back on our portion sizes for breakfast and dinner because she said we were “thick”. (24lbs of pure love!) I don’t agree with her but I don’t want my legs to start hurting   Lucy & Ricky's adoption fee is $600 - 0bedience training required after adoption and fully enclosed fenced in yard is also required for these two.   To apply to foster or adopt please fill out application at www.heidislegacydogrescue.com/apply-to-foster-or-adopt Thank you for completing the application.
