Story
Mayer is a 6 month old Dachshund (mom is a standard Dachshund, while Dad is a Min Pin/Dachshund) with a bit of Miniature Pinscher added for fun. He is a shy boy who snuggles in when he's picked up. Once he feels comfortable, his playful personality comes out. He does well with other dogs and would love a friendly, confident dog in his size range in his forever home. Mayer weighs 15 lbs currently and is expected to be around 20 lbs fully grown. Please send in an application at www.waggingtailsrescue.org

Story
Meet Rowan Burrowshanks!! Rowan has been rehabilitating with Wagging Tails rescue for just over a year. He is an approximately 8 year old long-haired chocolate dachshund weighing in at about 16 pounds. When he arrived, he was unable to use his rear legs or urinate on his own because of an untreated spinal injury, which is unfortunately common with this breed. Since then, he has received chiropractic and holistic care from the wonderful Dr. Bradshaw with Agape Animal Chiropractic as well as physical therapy at home with his foster mom and is WALKING again!!!! He has gained back about 75% of his ability to urinate on his own. His foster mom still expresses his bladder 1-2 times a day, but he is usually able to get most of his tinkles out by himself. We just do the additional expression to help prevent urinary tract infections. He is able to poo on his own, but it's occasionally a surprise to him when it shows up, so there are times when he may have an accident in the home. Rowan is a quirky guy, so will require a special forever family. He's a genuinely happy little dude, but is socially awkward. He gives warning nips when he is uncomfortable or frightened, so we do not recommend a home with children. Since he needs his bladder expressed, we would prefer a home with someone who has experience doing so, since he will be quick to correct anyone who is causing him pain or discomfort. He does not like to be picked up because of his back issue, but he's happy to chill out on a fluffy blanket or dog bed at your feet. Now that he can walk again, his tail is always wagging. Rowan is somewhat slow to warm up to new people, but if you are patient with him, he will soon be asking for endless belly rubs, and will stare into your eyes like you're the only human in the world. He loves squeaky toys, smooshy beds, blankets, naps, and like most dachshunds, he was born with a German engineered early warning system pre-installed, so you will never need a doorbell again! He is well-behaved at bath-time, and very much enjoys being blow-dried after his baths. He's a master napping buddy and will be forever loyal to you if you can show him kindness, patience, and understanding. He gets along well with the other dachshunds and small dogs in his foster home, but gets nervous with bigger dogs. He doesn't really show interest in playing with the other dogs, so he would be fine as an only dog. He cannot go up and down stairs or ramps because of his back, so a one-story home would be best for him. We know Rowan isn't everyone's idea of a perfect dog, but he deserves to have a forever family just like any other "normal" dog. Are you his perfect match? Story
Oscar is a 6 month old Doxie with a bit of Min Pin thrown in for extra fun! He is a fun boy who is shy at first, the world is new and he's learning lots of new things. He was born from an accidental litter and never left that home prior to coming to us so while he was very loved, he hasn't gotten a lot of exposure to the big world. Oscar was born June 30th and currently weighs 16 lbs. Mom is a standard red Dachshund while Dad is a Min Pin/Doxie mix. Please send in an application at www.waggingtailsrescue.org
