Story
Meet Milo & Mikey — the cutest little bonded duo ever. These sweet boys came to us as an owner surrender after their person passed away, which was absolutely heartbreaking. When they first arrived in foster care, they were a little depressed, but within just a few days their sparkle came back. They’ve been happy little babies ever since, soaking up love, attention, and the overdue medical care they truly needed. Milo is a gorgeous 3–4 year old purebred dapple Dachshund. He is super chill, easygoing, playful when he wants to be, great with other dogs, and loves to tell you when he’s hungry with his adorable little “awooos.” He and Mikey both sleep in their individual crates at night right next to each other and do wonderfully. Milo loves laying right on top of you and giving endless kisses. He is pure perfection. Mikey is an 8 lb Chiweenie who is very bonded to Milo. He is also sweet, snuggly, playful, loves toys, and does great with other dogs. He can be a little shy with new people at first, especially if you try to pick him up too quickly, but he warms up fast and is such a love. These two have been an absolute treat in foster care. They currently live with four other dogs and everyone gets along beautifully. Their ideal home would be one where someone is home most of the time, since they sleep in crates at night and prefer to be out with their people during the day. Because Mikey is so tiny, we are looking for a home with no young children. Dachshund experience would be a huge plus. Their forever family should understand the importance of ramps for beds and couches, supporting their long backs when picking them up, and helping prevent any injuries. They also love basking in the sun, so a yard would be ideal. Milo and Mikey could go to a home with other dogs or be the only two spoiled babies in the house. They are such an amazing pair and will bring so much joy to the lucky family who adopts them. Please apply if you’re interested in giving Milo and Mikey the forever home they deserve. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdc9IlMzlBqTTpXA9n5-AGb7XoE2Ru0ypKCP1q3VjNRGWloOQ/viewform

Meet Tony! Tony is a handsome 1.5-year-old Dachshund with a big personality packed into a small body. Sweet, affectionate, and loyal, Tony is the type of dog who forms a strong bond with his people and loves being part of the family. Because he becomes attached to his humans, it’s important that his adopter provides clear boundaries, structure, and consistency. With the right guidance, Tony thrives and becomes an incredible companion. He may be prone to separation anxiety if not given the tools and routine he needs, so a committed owner will help him build confidence and independence. Tony loves to play and would benefit from an active family that enjoys engaging with him through games, training, and adventures. We especially encourage taking him out into the world and making play part of his daily routine. He does well with other dogs he knows and trusts. While he’s comfortable with family dogs, he prefers that unfamiliar dogs respect his personal space until he’s had a chance to get to know them. Like many dogs, he appreciates proper introductions and clear communication. Tony is house-trained, comfortable in a crate, and highly motivated by both food and toys. And don’t let those short legs fool you! Tony is surprisingly athletic and adventurous. Whether it’s a neighborhood walk, a day exploring new places, or even a hike, he’s always ready to join in on the fun. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion with plenty of personality and a zest for life, Tony may be the perfect match for you. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdc9IlMzlBqTTpXA9n5-AGb7XoE2Ru0ypKCP1q3VjNRGWloOQ/viewform

Story
Meet Logan At just six months old, Logan is a charming Dachshund–Chihuahua mix already proving himself to be a true little gentleman. With his soft blond coat and sturdy 14-pound frame, he carries a perfect blend of confidence and sweetness that’s impossible to resist. Logan is happiest right by your side—especially if there’s a cozy lap involved. Naps are one of his specialties, and he takes them seriously, curling up peacefully and bringing a calm, comforting presence wherever he rests. When he’s awake, he’s full of love and gives some of the best kisses around. For such a young pup, Logan has wonderful manners. He’s almost fully potty trained and already uses a doggy door like a pro. He gets along well with other dogs and enjoys being social and playful. (His thoughts on cats are still a mystery!) When it’s time to play, Logan’s fun-loving personality shines. He loves tug-of-war, chasing balls, and showing off his happy, energetic side. Despite that playful spirit, he’s not a big barker—he’s quiet, easygoing, and polite. At bedtime, Logan settles into his own dog bed right on his human’s bed—close enough for comfort, but perfectly content in his own space. It’s just another example of his beautifully balanced personality: independent, yet deeply affectionate. Logan truly is the best of both worlds—a playful puppy with the heart and manners of a loyal companion. He’s ready to find a forever home where he can share his love, cuddles, and sweet spirit every single day. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdc9IlMzlBqTTpXA9n5-AGb7XoE2Ru0ypKCP1q3VjNRGWloOQ/viewform

Story
Meet Squirt 🐾 Squirt came into my care as an emergency overnight foster on July 4th, 2023, along with her female pit bull buddy. Sadly, no one ever came back for them. About a year later, her pittie companion passed away from mammary cancer, leaving little Squirt without her best friend but she kept her sweet spirit and kept going strong. Squirt is a 4–5-year-old blonde Chiweenie (Dachshund/Chihuahua mix) with the most striking golden eyes and a truly unique look. She may be small, but she has a big personality! Squirt is playful and confident and doesn’t mind interacting with dogs much larger than herself. Her feelings about cats are still unknown. She would likely thrive with a loving family and children age 4+ who can play with her, but she would also make a wonderful companion for an older adult looking for a loyal little sidekick. Squirt is housebroken and walks nicely on a leash once the initial excitement of being outside settles down. She has recently started crate training it’s not her favorite place yet, but she settles fairly quickly. Her favorite things include: ☀️ Being around her people 🌳 Playing outside 😴 Taking cozy naps in the sun Squirt is truly a lovely, lively little dog with a lot of character and heart, and she’s ready to find a forever home where she can be loved the way she deserves.

Story
Meet Cooper! 🐾 Cooper is a one-and-a-half-year-old Dachshund mix with a BIG personality packed into a low-rider body! This little “wiener dude” is full of life, love, and nonstop wiggles. Friendly? Absolutely. Energetic? 1000%. Cooper is still very young at heart and has that classic “dog with ADHD” vibe — always moving, always curious, always ready for the next adventure. He would thrive in an active home that can keep up with his zoomies and give him plenty of playtime, structure, and exercise. Important notes about Cooper: • No cats — he is not feline-friendly. • Would do best with someone who understands high-energy dogs. • Training and consistency will help him channel all that enthusiasm into being the best boy ever. Cooper is incredibly sweet and loves people — he just comes with turbo mode permanently switched on. If you’re looking for a fun, silly, loyal sidekick who will keep you laughing and on your toes, Cooper is your guy.

💔 Peanut Needs a New Foster Home 💔 13-Year-Old Dachshund | Foster or Forever Home Needed Peanut is a 13-year-old male Dachshund who has been in rescue for a long time… patiently waiting for someone to give him a chance. Until now, he’s been lucky to have a loving long-term foster—but due to unexpected changes, they can no longer keep him. Now Peanut urgently needs a new foster home while he continues to wait for his forever family. He’s a calm, well-behaved little guy—as long as he’s the only pet in the home. Peanut loves treats, soft beds, and having a person/people all to himself. He’s been overlooked for so long, and it breaks our hearts to see him in limbo again. 💔 We provide everything you need—you provide the love. Please consider opening your heart to this sweet senior boy. He deserves comfort, stability, and someone to call his own. If you are interested in fostering Peanut, please fill out a foster application here https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/foster/PDR/Dog, write Peanut in the additional comments section, and we will call you upon receipt of your application. If you are interested in adopting Peanut 😍, please fill out an adoption application on our website at PawsitiveDifference.org or send us an email at Adopt@PAWsitivedifference.org.

Story
Shiloh-Doo is a stray with a heart as special as his unique look 🐾❤️. This very sweet boy will quickly win you over with his affectionate personality and love for snuggling—if you’re not giving him attention, he’ll be sure to remind you it’s cuddle time! He also enjoys getting out for walks with volunteers and soaking up time with his people. Shiloh-Doo can become very nervous around small children, so an adults-only home will help set him up for success. At this time, it’s unknown how he may do with other dogs, so a meet and greet is highly recommended to ensure he’s a great fit for your home.
