UPDDATE:  SARGE found his forever home!!!  Yeah!! So happy for you sweet boy.  He's been waiting awhile for this :) This is a courtesy posting.  Dear SARGE is in a foster home thru the Kern County Shelter (Bakersfield, CA).  He's been waiting SO long for his forever home, so we are posting him up here in the S.F. Bay Area (transport up here is possible).  SARGE is a young senior (about 7 yrs) and weighs about 80lbs.  Here's his foster mom's bio for him: Sarge is a mature, calm and easy going boy. He gets along with other dogs that don't play too hard. He's also good with kids. He mostly wants to chill with you. He's crated trained and doesn't soil his crate. He likes to play with toys and chew on bones, but he's not destructive. He's not a big barker. He's been overlooked because of his age. However, dont let that deter you from considering Sarge. He still has lots of love to give! Meet Sky, 2 yr old mix, neutered male (Anatolian shepherd and pit-bull is our guess) needs a new loving home. My parents have had him since he was 10 weeks old. He gets along with other dogs and people. My parents are older folks and don’t have the time (work schedules) and energy Sky needs for proper training, consistency and structured exercise. He would be much better off with a couple or single person who knows how to mean business with a neutral demeanor. Sky has resource guarding issues. This can managed with the right training, follow through and neutral calm demeanor. I am a trainer myself and would be willing and happy to work with whomever decides to re-home Sky as a curtesy. Giving him a safe loving and well balanced home would be worthwhile enough as a payment of my gratitude in giving back with my training expertise. Meet Sugar & Spice two sweet sisters with lots of love to give. These girls were sadly found abandoned on the side of the road with no trace of an owner, but that’s all behind them now they’re safe, loved, and officially Calpaws pups! Sugar and Spice are believed to be young adults, likely just under a year old, and we suspect they’re Anatolian Shepherd mixes, a gentle guardian breed known for loyalty and intelligence. Despite their rough start, these two have kept their sweetness. They’re dog friendly, kid friendly, and people friendly just easygoing girls who want to belong. Because of the risk of littermate syndrome, Sugar and Spice will be adopted separately, but both are searching for their perfect match. They are a bit timid, so each will thrive best in a home with another confident dog who can show them the ropes and help them blossom. If you’re looking for a loving companion with a soft spirit and a bright future, Sugar or Spice might be your perfect match.  ##2579101##

Meet Quinn — Your Gentle Giant Looking for His Perfect Match Quinn is a big-hearted 150 lb Great Pyrenees mix with a calm, steady nature and a loving personality. He bonds closely with his people and thrives in a peaceful, predictable home. Quinn is wonderful with humans — attentive, affectionate, and happiest when he’s being petted, brushed, or simply hanging out nearby. He’d do well with an individual, a couple, or a family with older kids (10+). He’s also great with other animals. Quinn lives harmoniously with a smaller resident dog and has done beautifully in a kennel environment around many other dogs. He has also been respectful and appropriate with a household cat. True to his breed mix, Quinn enjoys spending time outdoors. He currently sleeps in a heated garage in his crate and loves cool weather, relaxing outside, and observing the world around him. He doesn’t dig or chew, but he will happily bark at squirrels, geese, turkeys, or unfamiliar people approaching the yard — classic Pyrenees watchdog behavior. On walks, Quinn does well with a gentle leader and is generally easy to manage, though he may need a reminder if wildlife catches his eye. He knows “sit” and “stay,” and while “come” isn’t his strongest skill yet, he tries his best. Quinn is a sweet, loyal, low-maintenance dog who will make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a big, gentle presence in their life.
