Story
Sophie is a 4 year old Leonberger/Poodle mix. She was originally rehomed with a sibling, and that did not work out. She is a very calm and happy girl. We were told she had anxiety, but we have seen no evidence of that at all other than she tends to want to be with her people at all times. She gets along well with other dogs. She was evaluated by a trainer who did not feel she needed additional training as she is calm and sweet. She's a big cuddlebug. She will be 4 on 9/9/26. She is 85 lbs. currently. She is spayed and up to date on all vaccinations. She is heartworm negative and comes with additional doses of heartworm and flea meds. She has also been to obedience school and has spent time at doggy daycare. Her perfect home would be one without small children. But, she would do well with other dog friends. She's really enjoyed living with two giant breed dogs in her foster home. She has not been tested with cats, but she has been exposed to very small dogs and there were no issues. She loves running (she has a lot of ya'ya's to get out) and she's been trained to run next to a bike.

Story
Bucky was surrendered by his owner for unknown reasons to Chesterfield Square-South LA Shelter, and after patiently waiting 3 long months for someone to choose him, his turn finally came! We welcomed Bucky as a Frosted Face on September 14th. Soon after, Bucky went on a two-week Frosted Fling, giving him the chance to relax in the comfort of a home while we learned more about him. His foster mom also gave him opportunities to experience the good life, including neighborhood walks and visits to dog-friendly restaurants. Here’s what we learned: Bucky is a people-loving guy. He absolutely adores his humans and bonded with his foster mom quickly. He follows her around the house and happily settles wherever she is. He loves hugs, snuggles, and belly rubs, but he doesn’t jump on people. Bucky's an easy houseguest. He has been left home alone for several hours and spent his time lounging peacefully without getting into trouble or damaging anything. He sleeps quite a bit during the day, then occasionally gets the zoomies! Bucky loves getting out and about. Bucky enjoys neighborhood walks and has accompanied his foster mom to dog-friendly restaurants. He walks nicely and is always happy to be included. Bucky has been polite around other dogs. He does not bark at other dogs and wags his tail when he sees them. Bucky is food motivated and learning new things. He is working on SIT and STAY and is already showing off his manners and will sometimes offer a PAW all on his own. And if you call his name, chances are good that this big boy will come running! Most of all, Bucky is simply a big, lovable companion who wants to be close to his people. After three months of waiting in a shelter, he is finally getting to experience what every dog deserves: a soft bed, leisurely walks, treats, belly rubs, and someone to love. His foster mom sums him up perfectly: “Bucky really is the best dog in the world.” Now this big-hearted boy just needs someone who agrees. Could you be the person who gives Bucky the forever home he has been waiting for? To meet Bucky, please email: placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org
