Story
Valo is one TALL drink of water with eyes you want to swim in.   His journey started as a stray running near a park.  He was scared and would not let anyone close to him.  Once trapped he was taken into the shelter hoping an owner would come.  Sadly that did not happen and after minimal progress in three weeks, putting him in jeopardy, we made space for him.  He was terrified of people, touch, the leash and would not take treats.  We assessed he observed dogs so placed him with a buddy pack.  He observed and started to follow.  Eventually he would take treats if dropped, then from hand.  He started to tolerate touch, accept affection and now seeks it.  He boops with his nose and is a goof.  He does well with people and dogs but does sometimes react insecurely so needs someone prepared to be patient, aware and help him continue gaining confidence through positive experiences.  He still has a ton of puppy energy but once burned off settles. He is great on leash with proper handling, despite his size. He loves adventure and does well at all of our adoption events. He did well when cat tested but while fostered with a cat did not.  The cat was sick and elderly so we could not further assess and had to pull him back to the facility where he resides now.  If you are not ready for a permanent companion but can make room for a goofy dog he would greatly benefit by a foster to help him grow more with one on one in a dedicated setting.  It would help us get to know him better and prepare for his future home. Because of my Flight Risk I cannot be left unattended in a yard, crate training is a must when you are gone, tight grip on the leash is a must on adventures and my new family must be aware of open doors and windows.  NO offleash activities in unfenced areas for life. Story
Age: 2 years old Gender: Female Breed: Great Pyrenees mix Weight: 60 lbs Personality: Shelby is a sweet, silly girl who is the best of both worlds! She adores her humans, kids, and her pooch pack. When it’s time to turn the energy up she’s a fun, playful girl. However, once it’s time to mellow out she’s pawfectly content lounging and relaxing at home. She’s lovable and loyal through and through! Education: This sweet girl was born with a condition that led to urinary incontinence. This may have been the end of her road, but TAP could see how special she is and stepped up to rescue her. She has undergone multiple procedures with TAP and is now ready to find a family of her own! She is house and bathroom trained and wears diapers when needed to help with any dribbling. Shelby is a smart cookie who is crate-trained and does well on the leash. She adores her pack but may be hesitant or a bit vocal around new friends/unusual sounds. Once she knows the coast is clear she warms right up! Favorite Activities: Shelby’s happy place is with her family. She loves playing with her furry pals and cuddling with the kids. She adores being outside, her toys, and getting out for walks. Like any good girl, she is also a big fan of her beauty rest. Looking for: Since Shelby is such a sweetheart, she would do well in a variety of homes. She would love other pups she can play with or go out for doggy playdates. She likes to chase cats, so they probably wouldn't be the best roommates. Shelby needs a loving human who is dedicated to her long-term care. She pawmises to love you for the long haul!l Special needs: Shelby will need monitoring with an established vet for her long-term urinary care. Adoption Fee: $ 350 ##1602168##

Story
Honey-brown eyes that will melt your heart! Howdy, y’all! My name is Bean, and I’m a 2-year-old, 104-pound Great Pyrenees spayed female.  I’ve come all the way from Riverside Shelter, where I was rescued by TAP just in time before I was set to get euthanized.  I’m grateful for this second chance at life and cannot wait to live life to the fullest in my furever home! As far as my training goes, I’m completely potty-trained and leash-trained. Sits on command, working on "lay down", "stay", and "come" and working on leash reactivity. I am sweet, loving and calm girl who is friendly to every human I meet! I love physical contact- and holding your hand! I take my job of protecting the house very seriously when my humans are gone and I am on alert for any unusual noises and will bark them away. I prefer getting love from my humans over playing with toys. I am dog selective and need to be the only dog in the home.  I require a strong leader and dedicated owner who will continue my progress in leash training and working on my desensitization on seeing dogs near my territory, and redirecting my attention. I have responded to positive reinforcement training and I am going to be working on muzzle training as well to continue to be the best girl! History of a swelling and persistent mass (most likely cause is a migrating foreign body) on the caudal thigh that is resolved and healed, but will need to be monitored by established vet for any future swelling or drainage.  I love to lay around and soak up all the love and pets from my humans, but I also have a playful and adventurous side to me, too.  I prefer leisurely strolls and several shorter walks throughout the day.. I am an easy going girl, and while I’d prefer to have company and attention most of the day, I am A-OK on my own, and show no signs of separation anxiety when you leave. Please get in my cardio and exercise before leaving, and have a nice snuffle mat or food puzzle to keep me entertained while alone. My adoption fee is $350 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip.  If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/. ##1733844##

Story
Khaleesi is a beautiful part of our lives. I got her when she was only 3 months. Not knowing her breed I got her DNA test and found out her breed as 100% Great Pyrenees. She loves attention, cuddles and going for short walks. She has not ever been sick, I had kept her on trifexis (Anti-parasites, heartworm and fleas medication) for years. She is strictly an indoor dog. Looking for a family that can give her lots of love and attention. She truly is a gem. I travel a lot for work for long periods of time, recently got divorced, and I have multiple therapy sessions per week for my daughter. It is heartbreaking to realize that I can not longer take care of Khaleesi.

Story
Hazel is great with dogs, cats and kids. She goes to the dog parks frequently and gets along with everyone there. She is mellow in the house and crate trained. I would describe her as low-low medium energy. She can play at the park for an hour or so but will spend the rest of the day lounging. She currently lives with a baby, cat and another dog and does very well.
