Noogie is living in a foster home. Fill out our quick adoption survey, and then we can set up a phone call or meet and greet with the foster! Noogie is: Neutered: Yes! Up to date on vaccines: Yes! Microchipped: Yes! Our microchips will automatically register when an adoption is finalized - Currently taking medication for anxiety support - Recovering from a successful TPLO surgery - Heartworm positive and on activity restriction. Noogie is undergoing treatment at Ellis Clinic at no charge to their adopter. Heartworm is a treatable disease that most dogs make a full recovery from. Crate trained: No, Noogie has done better in his foster home with being left to roam free versus being crated or confined to a room. He's comfortable with 1 - 2 hours alone with a companion dog, but will do best with an adopter who is home more often than not. Leash walking: Doing well! Dog social: Yes, he lives with a resident dog in his foster home and has been doing well. He has shown some mild resource guarding behaviors so management is needed. Cat social: Yes, he lives with cats in his foster home and has been doing great with them! Kid friendly: He has done well in brief interactions with kids on walks Noogie likes: - Spending time with his person! - Napping in the sun with his cat and dog pals - Going for car rides, and helping you run your errands Noogie is the definition of a gentle giant. He loves napping, cuddling, and being with his people. He would love a big fur family of cats and dogs. He will sometimes guard his treats, toys, beds, and people from other dogs. He should be fed separately, and management will be needed if in a home with another dog. He has struggled with anxiety when home alone, particularly when confined, and has done best with the help of medication and a dog pal to keep him company. He would likely do best in a home where he will not be alone often. Despite this challenge, he's calm, quiet, and an all-around great and majestic boy! He can be nervous to go into his crate, but will settle once inside, for up to 2 hours so far. Leash walking: Working on it! He has been gaining confidence on leash, and will pause to say hi to other dogs and humans Dog social: He has been friendly when meeting other dogs on walks Cat social: Unknown Kid friendly: He has done well in interactions with toddlers Morton Salt likes: - Stopping to greet new friends on walks - Cuddling with his people - Trying to solve puzzle toys! Morton Salt (Morty) is a chill fellow who is adapting quickly to becoming a house dog. He started out quite timid on the leash, afraid of doorways and stairs, and in disbelief that food and water would really be provided twice a day. He is a gentle giant who doesn't realize he is probably too big to be a lap dog, and will gladly accept all the head and belly rubs you are willing to give him. He has been coming out of his shell and showing his goofy personality, playing with toys and learning how to dog. We are excited to continue to watch him grow!
