Story
Boone is a sweet, gentle, Great Pyrenees mix with a calm, quiet demeanor. He is estimated to be about 3 years but has an older aura about him. In fact when we agreed to bring Boone into our rescue organization, we expected that he was a senior; he was in such bad shape and completely emaciated. He had been found laying along a highway, too weak to move on his own. He was horribly matted and full of caked dirt.Over the last weeks, Boone has been working on building up his strength and also getting back to a good weight. He’s been getting plenty of exercise walking around in the large fenced-in yard of his foster home. He’s also been eating good high-quality food, and receiving beneficial supplements too. He’s definitely on track to becoming a healthy dog, a healthy 3 year old dog! In addition, his fur is growing back nicely as he evolves into a very handsome boy! Boone currently weighs 75 lbs.Initially Boone was timid and scared of new things. However he has been blossoming and gaining confidence every day, thanks to the other dogs in his foster home, and his interest in what they are doing.An ideal home for Boone is a quieter environment, with 1-2 calm dogs. He could be ok as an only dog too. Cat experience is unknown but we expect he would be uninterested in cats.A one-level home is best for Boone, as he struggles going up and down flights of stairs, but is ok with 2-3 stairs. Carpeted flooring or, hardwood floors covered with area rugs, would also be helpful in ensuring Boone does not slip on hard surface floors.Boone is fully vetted, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested and on year-round preventative, neutered and microchipped, He is housebroken and crate trained.
