Zia is a 4-year-old Anatolian Shepherd weighing 125 pounds. She’s a gentle soul with a calm, thoughtful presence and just the right touch of silliness. She’s past the puppy chaos and has settled into her favorite rhythm of life: enjoying a peaceful walk, then finding the perfect spot to lay down and quietly observe the world go by.
Laid-back, chill, and quietly funny, Zia has moments of playful charm that will catch you off guard and make you smile. She does well with kids and other dogs, making her a wonderful companion for a family looking for a steady, affectionate presence rather than constant high energy.

ADOPTION PROCESS:
1. You must begin our adoption process by applying to adopt on clawsadopt.org. Please do NOT inquire via Petfinder, social media messengers or in our comments. We will only be looking at applications!
2. Please make sure you fill out our adoption application COMPLETELY. We may not be able to respond to applications that are not completely filled out with the proper information. Side note: on our applications, the more details you provide = the better.
3. We prefer applicants live within 60 miles of Closter, NJ. (Applicants who live farther away may still apply. However, please note we do prioritize local applications as we try our best to serve our local community first.)
4. Please respect our organization, our volunteers and our process. As a reminder, our organization is a nonprofit. We receive no money from the state. We have no paid employees! This is a polite reminder that we are doing our best to make the right decisions for the animals in our care. Thank you.
