Story
Adoption Donation   $ 499 Located:  RI Age: approx   5-6   years old   FULLY FENCED YARD AND COMPANION DOG(s) REQUIRED   Hey, Ari here. Not to be too bold, am I handsome (and I'm sweet too). I had a rough start and was saved with 45 other dogs from a local hoarding situation, but that's behind me now. I am between 5-6 years old, UTD on vaccinations and neutered. I have some quirks which my foster mom will share.   My needs are simple: besides the obvious of a soft bed, food & love I need:   * A fenced yard since I do not like a collar/leash * A doggy friend (or two) since I have never been without a lot of them to make me feel     safe * Alot of patience. I still have puppy tendencies since I never really had a puppyhood         where I learned.   Puppy love, Ari  If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application on our website  www.fohari.org  and email my foster parent for more information:  illdoit2000@aol.com Please verify the location and readiness of this dog with us.  Because we save lives from various locations through out the United States, some dogs may not be in New England yet, nor ready for immediate adoption.   Our adoption application can be found here: https://fohari.org/application/  Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in. ALL animals are in foster homes as we do NOT have a  shelter where you can visit. Some animals are in foster care in New England, and some are located in other states. If the initials following the animals name are a state, then that is the state where the animal is located. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt.  From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit.  If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters. Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) reserves the right to deny any adoption application with or without disclosure of cause. Your adoption fee helps to cover the cost of all age appropriate vetting and transportation. FOHARI.ORG makes no explicit or implicit guarantees in reference to the health, temperament and/or the breed of the animal. The animal is adopted ‘as is’, and the adopter assumes all responsibility for treatment of any and all existing conditions or any other conditions of physical or temperament changes that may occur. FOHARI.ORG will provide the animal with the basic vaccines, heart worm test and sterilization of dogs and cats before adoption if the age and current health of the animal permits. While FOHARI.ORG makes every effort to place only healthy animals, FOHARI.ORG cannot guarantee the health of any animal, and shall not be held responsible for any medical expenses that may be incurred. Rescuer will provide information received from the veterinarian exam, observations on the temperament of the animal and a best guess of the breed. Friends of Homeless Animals Inc. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Banjo – A Spirited Soul with a Story to Tell DOB: ~August 23, 2022 | Weight: 21.6 lbs | Adoption Fee: $400 Apply at: www.adoggie4you.org Look at that happy face—Banjo is a character through and through! This little guy is full of charm, always up for some time in the play yard, and never says no to attention from his favorite volunteers. He’s friendly, social, and has a big personality packed into a compact body. Banjo’s story hasn’t been an easy one. After being found on the streets and fully vetted by our team, we searched for his owners for months. Just as he was about to be adopted, his previous owners came forward. Sadly, a year later, Banjo was found on the streets again, and we were called to take him back into our care. His former owners, currently without stable housing, agreed it was best that Banjo find a safe, secure forever home. Due to past food insecurity, Banjo can be food-aggressive with other dogs. He’s shown no aggression toward people and does well with small dogs, but may be a bit pushy with larger ones. With a bit of patience and structure, Banjo has all the potential to thrive. He would love to be an only dog to one person.  Banjo is now safe, healthy, and ready for a brighter future. If you’re looking for a fun-loving companion who’s ready to be truly home for good, Banjo could be your perfect match. This dog is currently in Texas; however, it can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington KY or all along the East Coast. If transported, there is an additional transport fee of $225. We do not transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to their regulations.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 19, 2025, 2:43 pm

Story
Please contact Jamesa (roxysrescue@yahoo.com), 713-882-2610 for more information about this pet.Okay, this little boy came with his name AVIS as an owner surrender!!!  But he does not respond to the name at all.  Even when he laying on my side relaxing does he respond to his name.  He loves to lay with you and cuddle but he is very obedient when you put him down because you need some room for yourself. AVIS is a 3 1/2 year old, 15 pound Lhasa Apso/Shih Tzu.  The owner swore him as a Shih Tzu but he vet determined that he is mixed with Lhasa Apso.  Truth is he is just a mixture of beauty!!  And his temperament is sooooo sweet.  He was a bit shy when I first got him and he needed a few days to adjust before he became comfortable enough to run around with the other foster dogs.  He doesn't bother them and they do not bother him although he seems to enjoy watching them play.  He came from a home with a 12 year old dog. AVIS was owner surrendered because of some major lifestyle changes and she could no longer care for him.  In the past few months he has been living in several different environments.  I bet he would just like to be normal and stable in a loving home.  AVIS only had the 1 owner since he was a baby. He walks great on a leash, no pulling and he walks at your pace.  AVIS is a very easy going guy.  He for sure needs to be groomed but if I groom him it will be more of a hack job!! If you are interested in adopting AVIS, please submit an application on the website below.  Thank you. www.roxysk9rescue.org       ADOPTION FEE & APPLICATION REQUIRED   Roxxy's K-9 Rescue does not have a shelter, all of our dogs are raised in foster homes.  Each dog comes  spay/neutered (fixed), rabies shots appropriate for their age, and dewormed twice.  The dogs are up to date on vaccinations according to their age at the time of adoption.  They are microchipped, heartworm tested and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative.  ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION FEE. We transport across the United States. Medical records will come with each dog at the time of adoption. Our organization is run by volunteers/foster parents, please be patient to give us time to respond to your emails and/or phone calls.  We will reply to you.  Thank you.         August 20, 2025, 12:57 pm
