Story
Meet Matty! He walks/struts well on leash, rides well in the car, and loves being outdoors. He spends virtually all day on or near his temporary Foster mom's lap and follows her wherever she goes like he's attached by an invisible cord. He likes cheese and carrots and enjoys gazing out the window and giving wildlife a piece of his mind when they dare invade his kingdom. His history before rescue - when he was surrendered as a stray - is unknown but he does need some TLC and training. He gets along with some dogs but can be barky towards ones he doesn't like. Matty is a bit jumpy with sudden or quick movements in his peripheral though he may relax and feel more at ease once he's acclimated to his fur-ever home. He's also been resource guarding his temporary Foster human against the resident Golden Retriever. He doesn't seem to guard food or toys, just humans. He'd probably do best in a home with someone who has experience with fearful dogs and where he's the only pet so he doesn't have to share his human. He has lots of love to give and is on the lookout for someone to provide him a stable home and patiently guide him to become the happy, secure, and confident pup we know he can be. You can apply now to foster or adopt when ready! -------------------------------------------- If you are interested in finding out more about Matty - please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRO/Dog Matty is being fostered in Winthrop, MA. The adoption fee is $450. Please ask us about this if this is a hardship. Like Broken Tail Rescue on Facebook!. Follow Broken Tail Rescue on Instagram! Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.

Story
Hey there, I'm Scrappy! I'm a playful, smart, curious, sweet, energetic, goofy, and funny kind of guy. My last owner really loved me, but my zest for life was hard for him to keep up with and he really wanted me to find a family who could match my enthusiasm for playtime. You see, I LOVE to play--with pups, with people, and *especially* toys! I've had some seizures in the past, but my human friends tell me that if I take my medicine every day, they should stay under control. My new mom or dad should have a good relationship with their vet, just in case. Sometimes I like to talk and my voice is pretty loud, so it's not recommended that I live in an apartment. I'm really looking forward to finding my next home!
