- A very special dog who arrived severely injured and required major surgery; has bounced back extremely well but will need special care throughout his life - read on if you are interested in this sweet, special-needs dog! - Arrived at the ARL with severe jaw fractures that required almost a full removal of his lower jaw; has been doing very well after his surgery and is able to eat wet food on his own; will need to be on a soft-food diet for life, and may require support while eating, including adding water to his food or feeding him in small wet food "meatballs" - Exceptionally sweet and friendly and seems unaware that he's any different from any other dog!- Formed close bonds with his caregivers and seems to love people; had a great time roaming around our Miracle Medical Ward during his recovery and loved getting pets from people before he'd be off exploring again - Because he's missing much of his lower jaw, his tongue will always hang out of his mouth and he may have more noticeable drooling than other dogs; will need regular vet visits to ensure the remaining part of his jaw and overall dental health are doing well (more info at ARL)- Our team is happy to talk to you more about his special needs when you visit, and we encourage you to reach out to your regular vet with questions, as well The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. Primary Color: White Weight: 12.25 Age: 5yrs 0mths 3wks
