Bo bonds very closely with his person and loves nothing more than being nearby, whether that means hanging out together in the recliner or keeping you company around the house. Bo can be protective of his favorite person and isn’t always comfortable sharing their attention. He will need someone willing to give him patience, boundaries, and time to build trust and feel secure. Bo walks on leash, is pad trained, and will also potty outside, although he doesn’t currently signal when he needs to go. He’s an alert little guy who likes to let you know what’s happening around the house and happily accepts treats. Meet Sweet Serenity!     You’d be hard-pressed to find a dog sweeter than Serenity. She truly lives up to her name with her gentle and loving nature. It’s heartbreaking to think that anyone could have neglected such a precious soul.   Serenity is a petite 4-year-old, weighing just 11 lbs. She was found wandering as a stray north of Nashville, but even after her profile was shared on every lost-and-found pet site, no one stepped forward for her. One possible reason is an old injury to her right front leg—a break above the joint between her foot and leg that never healed quite right. While her foot now lacks proper support for walking, the injury isn’t painful and doesn’t seem to slow her down. Serenity often shifts her weight to her other legs and has become an expert at the charming Maltese trick of dancing on her hind legs.   Serenity is guaranteed to make you smile—she’s a true trooper with a resilient spirit. She gets along beautifully with dogs of all sizes and is also friendly with cats. This little lady is an excellent car rider and will be a delightful companion for any outing. Meet Pretty Portia!   This adorable Shih Tzu/Lhasa Apso mix was found wandering as a stray in a rural community northwest of Nashville. She was hungry, frightened, and severely matted—clear signs she hadn’t been cared for and had likely been on her own for some time.   After her grooming, a new Portia emerged. She joyfully ran up and down the animal control hallway until she tired herself out. That was when Mr. Randy knew he had to find a rescue for her. With a quick call to Miss Peggy, Portia was soon on her way to her foster home.   Portia is a bit hesitant at first and may need a couple of days to settle in. Once she is comfortable and knows you are her person, she will become your loyal companion—rarely leaving your side and always wanting to know where you are and what’s happening.   Portia gets along well with other dogs and has a wonderful time playing with her foster sister, Molly. They romp and run together in the fenced yard. Portia is also good with cats.   She loves to play but is equally happy to settle in for TV time and snuggle next to you. Portia rides well in the car and will be a great companion for any outing. If you’re looking for a diamond in the rough, Portia could be the perfect addition to your family—just give her a few days to settle in.
