🐾 SKYLAR is a brand new owner surrender who could no longer care for her after having a new baby in the home. She's just a year old and so far seems like a super sweet dog. High energy, housetrained, crate-trained, and loves chew toys and to play with other dogs. She does seem like a very "vocal" dog and not a big fan of the crate, so might do better in a non-apartment setting. She takes a min to warm up to new people, especially guys, but with some patience, she's already doing great with her foster's male friend. We'll report back soon with more first-hand info and pics from her foster. We've got her vetted to age now except her spay which is included at our vet in her adoption fee ASAP. 👉 Adoption fee INCLUDES: all vetting to age (including deworming, flea & tick etc), spay/neuter and microchip (if the dog is under 6 months, alter and chip will occur after they're 6 months, covered in full at our clinic or reimbursed partially at a vet of your choosing). If the dog is older than 6 months and not yet altered, we will schedule ASAP (normally within 30 days) at our clinic . We also provide as an incentive a $60 rebate for completion of positive-based training classes. We are not a shelter and are completely volunteer foster-based, so there is no central place to come see all of the dogs available. 📌 IMPORTANT NOTES: ** Housetraining with rescues is sometimes a work in progress and even if a dog is 100% in a foster's home, it should be expected there will be an adjustment period as a dog adapts to a new environment. This is even more true if the dog has not by chance had their altering appointment at time of adoption. ** Also, we highly recommend some form of 2-week shutdown and decompression for dogs going to a new home for best results. --> Lastly, breed guesses in rescue are just that (GUESSES!!) 99.9% of the time. We do not do DNA testing and our breed guesses are based on appearance and sometimes other traits, but we know the dog breed guessing game is a fool's errand even for those with LOTS of experience. 🗺 ADOPTION AREA: several hour radius of Rochester, NY (Canada within 3 hours IS allowed, except that young puppies need to be old enough to have gotten their rabies vaccination to cross the border - usually around 16 weeks)

Sadie will do best in a home that has another dog there who can help her build up her confidence. She is a very sweet and very smart girl who has realized that not all humans are bad. She lovingly seeks attention for cuddles and loves to snuggle up and watch TV with her person. Sadie is also finding out the joy in playing with toys! Her foster mom is actively working with her on walking on a leash with her harness as well as on potty training- but she's a smart girl and is doing very well! We do not ship our dogs and require home visits. Must live in area to adopt, will not respond to out of area/country requests. Additionally we require physically fenced yard for dog/pup to play in safely. Exceptions are sometimes made to this requirement but is up to the foster and more often done for the small breed dogs. All our dogs have been treated with de-wormer; heartworm tested (if age appropriate -7 months or older); treated for fleas/ticks; microchipped; and examined by veterinarian plus given age appropriate vaccinations. We take every effort to ensure the health of the animal and you will receive a copy of all vet work performed at time of adoption. Dogs will be spayed/neutered thru us prior to finalizing any adoption. We provide information on dogs age and breed based on what we are told by person surrendering dog or vet's best guess. While we try our best we cannot guarantee that this information is 100% accurate and can often be best guess in case of our lovable mutts.
