Story
Waffle is a small dog- about 17lbs- with a big personality and an even bigger need for the right forever home. While he may be adorable, Waffle is not the type of dog who will thrive in just any environment. He is looking for a patient, experienced, dog-savvy adopter committed to helping him continue building confidence and trust. https://youtu.be/aaybwp6jqjI Waffle is estimated to be about 2 years old. Our best guess is that he may be a Maltipoo mix, though as always with rescue, breed and birthday are simply our best guess. Waffle was left behind with two other dogs after his owner was deported, and that experience understandably left him insecure and unsure of the world around him. Because of this, Waffle takes time to warm up to new people and environments. He is not the kind of dog who will immediately shower strangers with affection, but with patience, structure, and consistency, he is capable of forming very strong bonds with his people. Waffle absolutely needs another younger dog in his forever home — ideally a confident dog around his age and similar size who can handle his rough-and-tumble play style, occasional reactivity, and active personality. He relies heavily on other dogs for confidence and comfort, and another dog is essential to helping him feel secure and continue making progress. His ideal home will have: • A securely fenced physical yard (no apartments, condos, or invisible fences) • Another young, confident dog in the home • Experienced adopters familiar with nervous or reactive dogs • A structured environment with boundaries and routine • Patience and realistic expectations during decompression Waffle is vocal, especially when uncertain, so shared-wall living is not appropriate for him. He is also still working on leash skills and can bark at unfamiliar people and dogs on walks. Keeping his world small at first and allowing him to slowly build trust will be very important for his success. Despite his challenges, Waffle has so much potential in the right home. He enjoys playtime, exploring the yard, and being with his dog friends. He is also cat friendly! Watching him slowly learn to trust and feel safe is incredibly rewarding, and the right family will see a side of Waffle that most people never get the chance to experience. Because of his needs, Waffle is not a fit for first-time dog owners or households looking for an easygoing social butterfly. He needs a committed family willing to meet him where he is and help him continue growing into the dog he is meant to be. For serious adopters, we would also be happy to connect you not only with his foster, but with our behavior team to help ensure a successful transition into his forever home. Story
Meet Chino! Chino is a 4-year-old Maltese looking for a calm, patient home where he can be someone’s one and only. This little guy is learning what it means to be loved and cherished — and while he may be shy at first, once you earn his trust, he’ll give you his whole heart. Watch his video here and come back to read more about him! https://youtu.be/7dnuzhZ3kR4 Chino is still getting used to affection, so he needs someone who understands that trust takes time. He would thrive with a single person or older adult who has prior dog experience and can offer consistency, quiet, and love. Once he feels safe, he’ll be your faithful lap dog — content just being near you. He walks well on a leash, is treat-motivated (especially when cheese is involved!), and is working hard to be on his best behavior to earn your affection. Chino lives in a home with small dogs like him and BIG dogs too. He is a not playful with any of his foster dog brothers. He prefers to lay in bed with his person and lap up all the affection and love. When his foster dad comes home he runs up to his leg and paws for attention. If you have a soft heart, a patient spirit, and an open lap, Chino may just be the loyal companion you’ve been waiting for. Email Stephanie@threelittlepittiesrescue.org We facilitate adoptions across the US through our own internal transport to ensure the quality of care. We travel to WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT and Canada (Canadian adopters will need to pick up in Bellingham, WA  or Brattleboro, VT for the eastern Canadian border)! Our pups travel in comfort with 24/7 care on our USDA licensed vehicles, including buses and cargo vans. You can join along on our private Facebook event page to follow their adventure, connecting you with other adopters and providing updates throughout their transport journey!   You will get to meet your new pup over a video call before signing paperwork, creating a fun and personalized adoption experience!    The adoption fee is $1,200 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectable, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship!    We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.    Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!    Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.   Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.    The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.   It doesn’t stop there! We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Meet Messi ⚽ Rescued from a Breeder—Now Ready to Fill Your Home with Fun and Love ❤️ Breed: Pomsky / Maltese / Shih Tzu Mix Gender: Male | DOB: April 27, 2026 | Weight/Expected Size: 10 lbs (Expected Small-Medium) Good With: Dogs ✔️ | Cats: Unknown | Kids ✔️ Medical: ✔️ Neuter Pending (Age-Appropriate) | ✔️ Current for Age Vaccinations | ✔️ Microchipped Location: Los Angeles, California Transportation: Ozzie and Friends Rescue provides safe transportation to approved adopters throughout the United States. https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptions ❤️ Personality, Breed Information & Messi's Story Messi's future changed the day he was rescued from a breeder and given the opportunity to experience life as a beloved family pet. Instead of a life centered around breeding, Messi now gets to enjoy everything a puppy should—playing with toys, making new friends, exploring the world, and soaking up all the love he can get. From the moment he arrived in rescue, Messi's playful personality has been impossible to miss. He's a confident, curious little guy who approaches every day like it's an exciting new adventure. Whether he's bouncing after a squeaky toy, zooming around the yard, or happily investigating something new, Messi brings energy and joy wherever he goes. This little boy has plenty of spunk and an outgoing personality, but he also has a sweet, affectionate side. After he's finished playing, he's more than happy to climb into your lap for cuddles or curl up beside you for a well-earned nap. He loves being around people and enjoys being included in everything the family is doing. As a Pomsky / Maltese / Shih Tzu Mix, Messi is expected to be intelligent, affectionate, and full of personality. The Pomsky contributes curiosity and playful energy, the Maltese is known for its gentle, people-loving nature, and the Shih Tzu adds loyalty and an easygoing temperament. Together, these breeds create a bright, social companion who thrives on interaction and family life. Messi would thrive in a home that offers: Plenty of playtime and daily exercise Positive reinforcement training Interactive toys and mental enrichment Continued socialization with people and other dogs A consistent daily routine A safe indoor home where he's included as part of the family Lots of love, patience, and lifelong commitment Messi has been given a wonderful second chance, and now he's looking for a family that's ready to laugh, play, and create a lifetime of memories together. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Like all puppies, Messi is still learning about the world around him. His new family should expect normal puppy behaviors, including chewing, teething, playful zoomies, and lots of curiosity as he explores his surroundings. Messi is eager to learn and will flourish with patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement. Starting training early will help him develop into a confident, well-mannered adult dog. Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule: 3 Days to decompress and begin feeling safe 3 Weeks to learn your household routine 3 Months to fully settle into family life Messi will benefit from: Positive reinforcement training House-training and consistent routines Daily exercise and supervised play Continued socialization with people, dogs, and new environments Mental stimulation through enrichment toys and puzzle games Plenty of patience, encouragement, and affection With loving guidance and structure, Messi will grow into a loyal, confident companion who will bring joy to his family for years to come. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Bringing home a puppy is a lifelong commitment that includes training, veterinary care, exercise, and companionship. As part of responsible pet ownership, Messi will need: Completion of his puppy vaccination schedule and routine wellness examinations Neutering when age-appropriate, following his veterinarian's recommendation Monthly flea, tick, heartworm, and parasite prevention A nutritious diet that supports healthy growth and development Daily physical exercise appropriate for his age Continued obedience training and socialization A safe, loving indoor home where he is treated as a cherished member of the family Because Messi is still growing, strenuous repetitive exercise and excessive jumping should be limited until his joints have fully developed. We recommend scheduling a wellness examination with your veterinarian shortly after adoption to establish care and ensure he continues to thrive. Adoption Information If you are interested in adopting Messi, please complete an adoption application by visiting: https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptions Thank you for considering adoption through Ozzie and Friends Rescue, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit dedicated to giving dogs a second chance at a loving home.
