Story
Luna is a very sweet girl. She loves to be around you and nap. Luna does not like other cats at all and is struggling now that my daughter and her cat have moved back home. She hasn’t really been around children, but one time a toddler tried to pet her and she hissed and swiped at the child, so my guess is that she is not good with young children. She would love to be the only pet in the home, which is how it’s been since our older cat died until my daughter moved home.

Story
Meet Leah This beauty was found by one of our adopters and her two new kitties were not happy to have a new family addition so she asked if we could take her in. Of course we could! Leah is about a year old, a beautiful grey long haired tabby (Maybe part Maine Coon) with luxurious silky hair. It's hard to capture her unique features in a picture, she has the flat, regal nose of a lion and the fluffiest of tails like a squirrel! It's taken her a few months to settle in, but since moving her from the antics of the kitten room to the quieter adult room, she is quickly learning to trust and love. She's a little timid at first but once she gets to know you, she's a very sweet little kitty. She loves to play with toys, crawl through tunnels, and play with hanging toys and laser pointers. Leah would do great with a gentle kitty friend or as an only cat. It has been so much fun watching her come out of her shell and learn to trust and love. If you can offer a safe indoor home for Leah, please get your application in on the homepage of this website www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org. Once on the website, please select 'How To Adopt' and complete the application. Please call our shelter at 706-865-4135 or email us at smithgallhumanesociety@windstream.net to verify that we received your application. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out of state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship nor do we transport them to their new homes. Adoption policies and application procedures are detailed at the shelter website: http://charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/ under tab All Adoptable Animals. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are either owner relinquished rescued from area Animal Controls or high kill shelters. The facility usually is operating at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.

Story
Snuggles has been our baby for 11 years. We had two babies over the past 3 years and they have taken over our lives. Snuggles has never peed outside her litter box once until our kids started getting very rambunctious. I believe see is spraying to show her dominance because she knows she can’t swat at the kids. She throws up randomly usually when she eats to much. She also has thyroid medicine she has to take twice a day. She’s a great cat and we don’t want to get rid of her but our mental capacity has reached its limits with these two kids. Taking care of a cat as well is to much.
