Story
Morris is a big, sweet smooshball. He recently had all his long hair shaved and he now looks like he is wearing fluffy white boots (he could be in a boy band!) or footed pajamas. He is a soft, silky loaf of bread who craves attention. You will not find a nicer cat anywhere than Morris. He loves to sit in your lap, but he needs a bit of a boost to get there. His bum gives some drag when he tries to jump up to find that comfy lap experience. Expect lots of biscuit making on your legs and when he is settled and his elevator butt is now in the down position, he'll be ready for a nap. Please just continue to let your legs fall asleep while he dozes off to kitty slumberland. Morris is a purr bug and will wind around your legs meowing for attention until you can't resist and rub that big, furry head. Morris needs a new home, because his current owner is going in to nursing care. Morris is a big boy at almost 17 pounds and he is also a little older. He is about 10-years-old. He is neutered and up-to-date on his vaccines. He is also microchipped and all his bloodwork for labs came back showing that he is very healthy. He was treated preventatively for fleas/ticks and dewormed.  Morris is good with other cats and would be fine with cat savvy, respectful children. He is very friendly and is a gentle, sweet soul. We believe he is part Maine Coon.  Morris did test positive for FIV. FIV is very hard to pass between cats and is usually acquired from a deep bite wound with fighting between un-neutered male cats or in vitro from mom to kittens. Negative and positive cats can live together. Morris lived in a household with other cats who tested negative.  That being said, cats with FIV can live very long and healthy lives. They often can go their whole lives without any symptoms. The only thing that is an issue is a decreased immune system which means they can pick up other infections and is why they need an inside only home. https://www.austinpetsalive.org/blog/myths-and-truths-about-fiv https://www.vet.cornell.edu/departments-centers-and-institutes/cornell-feline-health-center/health-information/feline-health-topics/feline-immunodeficiency-virus-fiv If you could open your heart to take in an older cat with many more years ahead of him, Morris would be very happy and his owner would feel less anxiety about going to nursing care.  For more information on Morris or to request an adoption application, please email us at bandocats@gmail.com  June 2, 2026, 11:35 am
