Meet Edgar! He is a sweet, middle-aged Maltese with a soft heart and an even softer coat. He came to us after being rescued from a puppy mill in Missouri, where he was used only for breeding his entire life. Despite such a difficult start, Edgar has blossomed into an incredibly loving and gentle companion. Edgar was adopted from us about a year ago and truly thrived in a home environment. Sadly, through no fault of his own, he was recently returned when his owners became medically unable to care for him. Through it all, Edgar has remained the same affectionate, loyal little boy who simply wants to be near his person. Edgar is a shy soul at first, but once he feels safe, he melts into gentle pets and quiet companionship. He especially loves a calm environment and a soft, reassuring touch. Edgar is a senior pup and is hard of hearing, but he navigates his world beautifully and responds well to visual cues and patient guidance. Now, Edgar is looking for a peaceful, loving home where he can spend his golden years surrounded by kindness, comfort, and companionship. He would do best with someone who understands that the best things in life are slow, quiet moments shared with a loyal friend. If you’re looking for a devoted little companion who will fill your home with quiet love, Edgar may be your perfect match.

PLEASE READ: To be considered, please complete the online adoption application on our website at http://www.floridayorkierescue.com Puff; a gorgeous Maltese, weighs 8 lbs. and is 12 years old. His owner died. He was a very spoiled little boy. His hair is gorgeous. Unfortunately he lost all of his teeth with age but does handle tiny kibble and soft food exceptionally well. He is up to date on Rabies vaccination and has been neutered and microchipped. He does have a very tiny growth on his eyelid that does not seem to be a problem for him. He is a quiet boy and a hugger. He is not housebroken and never was as he originally came from a breeding kennel. The previous owner used disposable belly wraps and they are exceptionally easy to use. He will poop outside or on the pee wee pads if he is confined. He will not tolerate a crate. He tolerates other dogs just fine but is not a dog that plays with toys.
