Hi . . . my name is Angel. I’m a Maltese/Yorkie blended girl who weighs 11 lbs. I’m a senior gal at 10 years old, but you would never know it. In fact, I act more like a puppy at times both emotionally and energy-wise. I’m affectionate, playful, protective and curious. I’m looking for a loving home with a patient person(s) who can teach me all about manners and how to be the best girl that I can be. Favorite Things: Angel loves her toys; her stuffies will keep her occupied for an hour or better. She loves being with her person at all times, including in their lap. This goofy gal likes to give kisses too. Training & Manners: Angel is working hard on her housetraining and will need to be let out on a regular and consistent basis. She needs someone who will continue working with her on basic manners. Angel is food-motivated, which will lend itself nicely to continued training. She walks well on a leash but could use more walks to improve even more. She loves riding in a car. Health and Care: Angel is spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and had a recent dental cleaning. She is a healthy girl and only requires her monthly heartworm and flea prevention, as all dogs do. Her hair is thin but once her full coat comes in, she will be gorgeous! She may need occasional professional grooming after that time, but in the meantime, nail trims and the occasional bath will keep her feeling her best. Other Animals: Angel loves to play with other dogs, but she doesn’t always know how. She can be a bit enthusiastic, which some dogs do not appreciate. Angel has no experience with cats, and we do not feel it would be a good fit for her. Children: Angel is frisky and doesn’t understand (yet) not to nip when she is playing. She has not been observed around children and due to her small size, age and lack of prior socialization, we feel a home with respectful teenagers would be most appropriate. Ideal Home: Angel would not be picky as to the type of home and would do well in a single-family home, condo or apartment. In her foster home, she has free rein and can be left for several hours without issues. She will let out a "woof" when the doorbell rings but is overall a quiet girl. After a hard day of play and sitting on your lap, she will happily sleep and dream in the “people bed” overnight. ***Local adoption only: Leona needs a family in the central Florida region (Orlando area) who can commit to taking her to her final follow up appointment with PPR's vetting partners. The cost of this appointment is covered in her adoption donation.*** Hi, I’m sweet Leona, a 1-year-old Yorkie blend weighing 7 pounds of pure puppy energy! I’m curious, resilient, and affectionate and hoping to find a loving home with another playful dog and a special person who is home more often than not. Favorite Things: Leona is all puppy and wants to play, play, play! She loves her squeaky toys and will play by herself or have a quick game of fetch with her person, but her favorite playmates are other pups. She lives for a good zoomie chase and a wrestle or two and when she’s ready to settle down for a nap, she seeks out another dog to be close to. This little girl is also a lover of food - the smells, the taste, the texture – it’s all heaven in a bowl (or cup or whatever!). Training & Manners: As a puppy, Leona will need someone who is at home more often than not during her first months in the home to help train her, let her out frequently, and raise her into the delightful girl she was born to be. She’s working on her potty skills, but it’s a work in progress. She’s an excellent scavenger and will find any tissues or paper you have and throw a confetti party but she’s learning! She’s also working on her leash walking skills, loves a car ride, and sleeps well in a secure space at night. Health & Care: Leona will need to have her final follow-up appointment with our vet partner and her adopters must commit to taking her to that appointment. The cost is covered in her adoption donation. She is spayed, heartworm negative, current on vaccinations, and microchipped. She’ll need monthly flea and heartworm preventatives, like any pup. And to look and feel her best, she’ll need professional grooming every 6-8 weeks. Other Animals: This playful pup adores other small, playful dogs. She loves having another dog to play with and cuddle up with during nap times. She hasn't been observed around cats yet, but her foster thinks she'd get along with them. Children: As a puppy, Leona is still working on her manners so she’ll do best in a home with patient older children, ages 8+. Ideal Home: Leona would do fine in any type of home but she can be quite vocal when left alone in the home at this point so a single-family residence might be best. She loves to run and play and will need a secure, safe space to do this. Overall: Leona will be the perfect pup for an active family in Central Florida who can train her, guide her, and love her forever, puppy quirks and all.
