While she may be the biggest of the bunch, she's every bit as sweet, gentle, and loving as her best friends Hector, Chia, and Darla. Poppy has a soft, affectionate personality and enjoys spending time with both people and her canine companions. She is the kind of dog who is happy to be included in whatever you're doing, whether that's relaxing on the couch, following you around the house, or joining you for a leisurely stroll. Her calm demeanor and loving nature make her an easy companion to adore. Poppy and her three friends recently lost the person they loved most. Their owner cherished them deeply and had one final wish: that Poppy, Hector, Chia, and Darla stay together. They have spent their entire lives as a family, providing comfort, companionship, and security to one another through every stage of life. Hi my name is Topsy! I'm estimated at 5 years old, weigh 9-10 lbs and appear to be a full Maltese (can not be guaranteed). I was surrendered with a few of my friends, Mopsy and Flopsy and we are looking for our forever homes. I am quiet and a little shy, but not aggressive at all. It appears we were used for breeding and we are so looking forward to having the life little dogs like us deserve with a real family and real love. I just really don’t know what is expected of me- the trainer here says I need to “learn to be a dog”. I will need help with potty and leash training- it wasn’t important before. I am dog friendly, so maybe having a fur sibling will help me learn?My $450 adoption fee includes vet exam, up to date vaccinations, spay, dental cleaning/work (desperately needed!), deworming, heartworm test (negative), and microchip. Bear loves attention from people and other dogs! He is 17-years-old and being a mature, wise boy, he walks well on a leash and is potty trained. He lived with another dog and cats, but his owner fell on hard times and could no longer care for him. He is about 20lbs and recently groomed showing off his cute Maltese / Dachshund haircut. Bear is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and is in overall good health other than having a lot of dental tarter and a slight heart murmur that does not require medication at this time. A shelter is no place for a senior pup so please consider giving Bear a loving home.
