Story
Meet GEORGE 🐾💙 Ohhhh, George. ❤️ George is an adorable little 5-pound Maltese who came to us along with Brownie & our sweet Lil One 🌈 as part of the same 19-dog breeder surrender. When George first arrived, we honestly thought he was a 9–10 year old senior. He was emaciated, shaved, had horrible teeth, tested positive for hookworms, had poor posture & seemed completely unresponsive to voices or sounds. He would randomly bark late at night, constantly soil his crate (& then dance in it 🤦‍♀️) and just seemed... lost & confused. But then we started putting the pieces of George back together. Deworming. Vetting. A much-needed dental where he lost quite a few teeth. High-calorie, good-quality food several times a day. And LOTS of TLC. George has gained over a pound—which is HUGE when you're talking about a dog his size—and as his little body has gotten healthier, something pretty amazing has happened. George started showing up. His eyes became brighter. He started standing a little taller. He began engaging with us, playing & discovering toys. And that little dog we thought couldn't hear? We called his name....& George responded. YES!! HE CAN HEAR!! YIPPIE!! 😂❤️ With his health improving & his true personality starting to emerge, our vet now believes George is probably closer to 7 years old. We've gotten him over the biggest medical hurdles. Now comes my favorite part—helping him learn how to LIVE. Like Brownie, George spent his life in a breeding/kennel environment, so some of the things most dogs take for granted appear pretty new to him. He'll need help with housetraining & learning how to walk on a leash, along with a patient person who understands that his development may be a little behind. And then there are the moments that just make your heart smile: George will take a toy or bully stick into his cozy little bed, pick it up, toss it around & BARK at it like a puppy. Watching this tiny guy discover toys and play might seriously be one of the most adorablest things ever. George doesn't need someone to spend the rest of his life feeling sorry for where he came from. He needs someone excited to show him where he's going. Someone patient enough to teach him. Someone who will laugh at the silly moments, celebrate the little victories & understand that some things may take him a little longer because nobody bothered to teach him before. He's got a beautiful life ahead of him. And with some consistency, patience, love & a little fun training, I'm pretty sure he's going to become the most perfectest little George he can possibly be. ❤️ Are you ready to help him shine? 📝 Apply: https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/PPFL-A-4072 📍 Adoption radius: 150 miles from Jacksonville, FL 🏡 All other pets must be current on vaccinations, spayed/neutered & on heartworm prevention.

Story
Sophia Joy was found as a stray in Marion County. Her eyes were severely infected and had to be removed. Sha also had a mammary mass removed and was spayed. She is adjusting to a sightless world slowly and is also hard of hearing, but she has settled down in her foster home. She will go potty when taken outside or does it on her puppy pads at night in her xpen. She eats well and then just wants to sleep. She is becoming a little more interested in what is going on around her when she is in amongst the other dogs in the house. Sophia Joy will be a very easy keeper, she will sleep on your lap or on any bed you put her on. She doesn't play or interact with toys. She is starting to enjoy being pet more and loves to be scratched around her ears. She really just needs a home where she is safe and secure, with some human interaction, love and kindness. She is thought to be around 9 years old.

Story
Cooper is a very sweet boy. He lives in a home with 4 kids, twin 5 year olds, 11 year old and 17 year old and his doggie brother/best bud, Jax (Mini Goldendoodle). These boys are very well behaved, they are house trained, but do use a crate at night and when we are gone from the home for long periods of time. We are hoping to rehome both dogs together. I will post Jax separately. We have had both boys their whole lives, and it breaks our hearts to rehome them. However, last year we adopted our twins, who have extensive medical needs, and the boys have not been getting the attention and love they need. The boys are GREAT with kids, and they are great at the groomer, and in the car. We use to socialize them at a dog park, but haven't been in a long time. We did take a week long trip over the summer, and they were boarded at the local vet and socialized very well with the other dogs there. All of their stuff will come with them including their crate.
