Story
Chyna was with our rescue 7 years ago when we were told she was 4 yrs of age by an owner. We are not sure which breed she is. the owner at that time told us maltipoo. Her hair was long and matted and you can see from pictures how she looked. We received a call recently that Chyna was in the shelter after APS showed up and took all of the dogs. There seems to have been a medical emergency with the owner. After a ten day hold, we were able to reclaim her. The owner is no longer in the picture. Chyna now is morbidly obese. We really hate it when people let their dogs go and give them treat after treat and food food food. It shortens their lifespan and quality of life. Chyna pants a lot as she is struggling to breathe under the weight. She is now twice the weight she was previously. She was 16 pounds then and is now 32 pounds. We put her on a diet. Regardless of size, she continues to be a well balanced and affectionate dog. She is very nice and she is great with other dogs. She has a lot of pep in her step and with proper diet and exercise, she can become her old self. She is looking for a home. One that can take care of her needs and love her the rest of her life. Adoption fee is $75 which helps cover all of the medical for all of the dogs in the rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and micro chipped and many have received further treatment for such conditions as lump removal, severe ear infections, dental cleanings, bloodwork, leg injuries, etc.. We do out of state adoptions but require a submitted application, a home visit (sometimes we cannot get this done and then we can not adopt), and the adopter must come to Las Vegas to meet the potential dog(s), possibly adopt, and then drive the dog back. Disclaimer: The SNBRF has the right to deny applications based on our adoption policies established for the consideration of the health, safety, and well-being of the dog. Beagles can have a lifespan of 15-18 years. Therefore, beagles or any other breed who are under 3 years of age will NOT be adopted to anyone over the age of 62. For individuals who are 70 years of age and older, the dogs must be 8 years or older For more information or to submit an adoption application, please visit our website at http://www.southernnevadabeaglerescue.com . We are also on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/SouthernNevadaBeagleRescueFoundation . Come meet and play with our available dogs at Las Vegas area dog parks. Times and locations can be found at http://www.meetup.com/beagles-207/ . Contact us or check our Facebook updates ahead of time if you are interested in meeting a particular dog. All our dogs are in foster homes so not all are available to attend all our park meetups. Our meetup group playdates allow you to socialize your beagle with his/her own breed at dog parks with large fenced areas where the beagles can run and play off-leash. Beagle enthusiasts, come bay with us..... AROOOOOOOOOOOO! October 7, 2026, 8:25 pm
