Story
Tucker Lull has two speeds: happily trotting somewhere and standing straight up on his back legs like he's has something very important to say. No one taught him this little trick, it just seems to be the easiest way to get a better view of whatever is happening around him. It's hilarious every single time, and it's only one small part of what makes Tucker such a fun little dog to be around! Go watch Tucker Lull, the Little Dog with the Big Smile on YouTube, then come right back to read more! You'll quickly notice that Tucker seems to smile through just about everything. Watch him eagerly greet new people, bounce around with his joyful energy, and keep an eye out for treats. If you catch him standing on his back legs to investigate the action, you've witnessed one of his signature moves. Estimated to be around 5 years old, Tucker weighs approximately 11 lbs and appears to be a Maltese-Shih Tzu mix, though as with all rescue dogs, his breed and age are simply our best educated guess. Tucker is the kind of dog who assumes everyone is a potential friend. He loves meeting new people and rarely contains his excitement for long. His greetings usually involve enthusiastic little hops as he tries to get close enough to say hello. There's nothing reserved about Tucker. He wears his happiness right on his face, and that signature smile seems to follow him wherever he goes. He's currently fostered with two other dogs and fits beautifully into the group. They spend time together throughout the day in their playpen, play well as a pack, and even sleep side by side at night. Tucker clearly enjoys having canine companions around and has become an easy member of the household. Mealtimes are relaxed too. He free feeds without any food aggression and happily shares space with the other dogs. Playtime is one of Tucker's favorite parts of the day. Balls are easily at the top of his list, and he always seems ready for another game. Treats are another favorite, making him eager to learn. He already knows "sit" and enjoys working for snacks. One of my favorite moments was watching Tucker interact with my five-year-old nephew. Tucker happily accepted treats from him, politely walked beside him on leash, and handled the whole interaction beautifully. My nephew's biggest observation afterward was simply, "He's really good at walking on the leash!" I couldn't have said it better myself. Tucker walks wonderfully on leash and makes neighborhood strolls feel easy and enjoyable. At home, Tucker has excellent manners. He's fully house trained, confidently uses a doggy door, and hasn't had accidents in the house. Grooming isn't exactly his favorite activity, but he handles the rest of daily life with ease. He doesn't mind being picked up for a quick cuddle, but he'd much rather be back on the ground exploring. When he's ready to be put down, he'll give an adorable little wiggle to let you know he's got places to go. He's also done well on short car rides, riding quietly in his crate for trips around five miles without any trouble. Speaking of crates, Tucker settles in nicely and doesn't fuss much when it's time to relax. Cats and kittens in the foster home are kept separate, so we aren't sure how he'd do with feline friends. What we do know is that he does wonderfully with other dogs, enjoys children, and genuinely loves being around people. Tucker would be happiest with a family that wants a dog who's ready to be part of everything. Whether he's greeting visitors with joyful little hops, chasing after his favorite ball, walking politely around the neighborhood, or making everyone laugh with his impressive balancing skills, Tucker has a way of making ordinary days feel just a little brighter! Story
Meet Chino! Chino is a 4-year-old Maltese looking for a calm, patient home where he can be someone’s one and only. This little guy is learning what it means to be loved and cherished — and while he may be shy at first, once you earn his trust, he’ll give you his whole heart. Watch his video here and come back to read more about him! https://youtu.be/7dnuzhZ3kR4 Chino is still getting used to affection, so he needs someone who understands that trust takes time. He would thrive with a single person or older adult who has prior dog experience and can offer consistency, quiet, and love. Once he feels safe, he’ll be your faithful lap dog — content just being near you. He walks well on a leash, is treat-motivated (especially when cheese is involved!), and is working hard to be on his best behavior to earn your affection. Chino lives in a home with small dogs like him and BIG dogs too. He is a not playful with any of his foster dog brothers. He prefers to lay in bed with his person and lap up all the affection and love. When his foster dad comes home he runs up to his leg and paws for attention. If you have a soft heart, a patient spirit, and an open lap, Chino may just be the loyal companion you’ve been waiting for. Application: https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/68825c2530ff4695f902e4e7 Questions? Email Stephanie@threelittlepittiesrescue.org We facilitate adoptions across the US through our own internal transport to ensure the quality of care. We travel to WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT and Canada (Canadian adopters will need to pick up in Bellingham, WA  or Brattleboro, VT for the eastern Canadian border)! Our pups travel in comfort with 24/7 care on our USDA licensed vehicles, including buses and cargo vans. You can join along on our private Facebook event page to follow their adventure, connecting you with other adopters and providing updates throughout their transport journey!   You will get to meet your new pup over a video call before signing paperwork, creating a fun and personalized adoption experience!    The adoption fee is $1,200 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectable, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship!    We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.    Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!    Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.   Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.    The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.   It doesn’t stop there! Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option.
